Love using this xtool X1. It does have a small footprint but I'm able to manage. The extension helps.

This is my second laser but my first portable laser.My other laser is an Om Tech 60w CO2. I use it for the cutting of wood and burning larger projects.I love the F1 because it is easy to use and portable. I do a few craft shows a year and it is easy to take with me to personalize items for the customer. It does a great job on slate coasters and on leather projects. On the smaller items it is so much easier to set up than the larger laser. Easy to focus and the framing is very accurate.It has been worth every penny that I paid for it and so far it appear to be durable since it has endured the rigors of the farmers market and craft shows.I would like to have a stronger one but will have to wait for a while due to the additional cost.

While the laser is nice, their packaging STINKS!!! I could not even plug the laser in because the correct connection cable was not enclosed in the box. Several other small parts were also missing. About two weeks after notifying xTool, I did get the missing parts. But today I unboxed the rotary tool and found that NONE OF THE SCREWS were enclosed. Also missing @re the stud components for engraving smaller items. I have emailed them, and will update this review when I hear back.=================Happy 5 stars now!!As an update I have now received the missing parts from xTool. They replied quickly and politely. I could not have asked for better service given the packaging mishap. Thank you to Wendy and the others who supported my issue so effectively!

We bought an F1 laser and love it. We did however have an issue with the R2 rotary tool and slider about a week into using the laser though. It basically made a grinding noise and quit working.We reached out to customer service and they were responsive and helpful. They sent a new motor for the rotary but that didn't fix it. They ended up sending me a new control board and that did fix the issue. It took about 25 minutes to replace and now everything works as it should. There customer support was all over a chat system and they did fix the issue at no cost.We've been using the laser to do leather patches for hats, coasters, engravings on wood, etching on hydroflasks/yetis, engraving on leather luggage tags, and many other items. It is a fun tool to customize anything and make custom gifts for family and friends. They are a younger company, but said they will ensure they take care of their customers if issues arise.

We were SUPER impressed with how well this was packaged! 20/10 for packing quality. The laser works great and all of the attachments were functional. It is pretty compact overall. Looking forward to perfecting our engraving skills!

Huge disappointment. After purchasing the XTool F1, was pretty happy with the system as it connected to my iPhone and was very easy to use. However, after 2 days and connecting it to my laptop, it no longer will connect to anything else and is practically impossible to try and reset. The support team keeps saying the same thing as google but nothing is fixing the situation.

Expensive but I love it, it is easily compatible to desktop or laptop, I love the little.projects i have started i haven't used the slider yet but I absolutely love this and all ot can do i do play to.get the ultra and keep.this one

This machine is a great addition to my C02 laser. Cut the bigger stuff on my big laser and I can engrave them on the F1.

VERY frustrating that xTool makes all this noise about laser safety, requiring you to watch a cheesy video on laser safety before you can use the software: but then doesn’t include laser safety glasses with the unit.I work in the technology industry and know full well how important laser safety _IS_, and the failure to include the appropriate safety eyeware with the unit is a major omission.The thing is: the unit itself works well, I was surprised at how quickly I was able to try an initial engraving, I was disappointed at how difficult it was to structure the first burn relative to the physical location of the target object. But compared to cheaper units i’ve seen friends try: this unit works fairly well: but again; safety has to matter first and foremost. The kit unit, as provided, includes accessories that an end user will be using in a manner that blocks the use of the built-in shield: which makes the laser safety eyewear for the end user and people around to be essential…One -cannot trust- the random ‘safety eyewear’ that is sold here on amazon. If you’re paying $10, you’re not getting anything that actually protects you: and xTool should know that, and include proper, quality, certified, protective equipment with the unit at time of purchase. ESPECIALLY if the rotary head and slide unit are included: accessories which by design, block you from using the built-in shield of the laser system.

I bought one. The one I received was used so I sent it back.
