Game-Changer for the Whole Family: Not Just a Fancy Home Gym
I don’t usually write reviews, but this one deserves it. This machine has completely exceeded my expectations. It does everything it promises and, honestly, more. Setup was straightforward, build quality is solid, and the functionality is incredibly intuitive. But what really sets it apart is how versatile and accessible it is for everyone in the house. The biggest win for us? My entire family uses it. As a dad, I was initially looking for something I could use consistently, but it’s turned into something much bigger. My daughters use it regularly, and I’ve seen a real improvement in their form and confidence. The guided workouts are a huge plus, they’re not just “follow-along” routines; they actually teach proper technique, which is tough to replicate without a coach. Another surprise benefit: it doesn’t lock you into just using the machine itself. The guided programs incorporate workouts that go beyond it, which keeps things fresh and helps build well-rounded fitness habits. That’s been huge for keeping everyone engaged. Also worth calling out are the ongoing updates. Even though there’s now a newer version (the 2nd generation Gym Monster), the company is still supporting and improving this one. That says a lot about their commitment and adds real long-term value. Bottom line: If you're on the fence, this is absolutely worth it. It’s not just a piece of equipment, it’s a full training system that grows with you and your family. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Five Star Product, One Star Delivery from Amazon's Delivery Service - A 50's year old's review
I've been using this for 7 weeks as of this writing. The Speediance resistance machine and the workouts they offer are spectacular. Unfortunately, the size of the product appears just too difficult for Amazon and its last-mile service. I'd recommend buying directly from Speediance instead of Amazon. The Product: I compare this to years of free weight lifting (high school, college, and into my 30's); then a few years using single purpose, rigid machines at a gym, then a couple years using a universal cable / pulley machine at home. The rigid machines were the worst because they limited range of motion and sometimes caused stress or minor injury. Free weights have the most range, but the cable systems offer more than enough resistance and range of motion to give a great workout without that type of injury. The Speediance's advantages over the traditional cable machine are (1) small form factor, (2) ease of setup and moving to different locations after setup, and (3) great integrated display with tons of well-designed workouts. I bought it for the form factor but have been really impressed by the quality of included workouts. One of the signs that they really focus on the workout is that they include appropriate muscle stretches for a few minutes at the beginning and end. Also, they'll throw in planks, sit ups, and other exercises that don't require the machine because they seem to focus on quality of the workout, not just the machine. The machine's resistance for lifting is great! To me, it "feels" heavier than the weight I select, so I workout with lower numbers than I might at the gym with free weights. The bluetooth ring they supply to activate, deactivate and change the weight is really convenient and easy to use -- allowing for quick adjustments to the amount of weight and to release the weight if you "hit the wall." For that and many reasons, the workouts on this seem so efficient because transitioning from one exercise to another is very, very easy and quick. Notably, the workouts are really well designed to provide a full (or targeted) workout, efficiently. I'd recommend starting with the four-week full-body beginner's plan if you, like me, hadn't been working out for a while before receiving this. it has stretching, warm-ups, and great exercises 3 days per week, and I felt that I'd safely built some strength to tackle more vigorous exercises after completing it. Definitely had some soreness, but built strength and focuses on good form and learning the machine while building a base of strength. If you're not getting back into weight training after a long absences, like me, there are tons of intermediate and advanced programs to try ... along with free form lifting or creating your own programs. You can do strength assessments with this, which will then populate the exercises with a suggested amount of weight based on your strength. There are actually many other reasons I've loved this, but it's time for the Delivery problems. Without going into too many details, I will give a suggestion to make your delivery better than mine. As mentioned above, just buy directly from Speediance. If that's not an option, suffice it to say I lost two days (4 hours each) waiting for the delivery and spent many hours on the phone. Amazon support seemed like they could help, but they didn't. NSD, the delivery company lied about not having it in their warehouse, about having tried to contact me, about the missed days being Amazon's fault. Seems they lie to satisfy Amazon's metrics and don't care about the person or the delivery. If you decide to take the chance of ordering via Amazon instead of directly from Speediance, please begin checking your order status regularly to see when it arrives at the local warehouse and has been assigned a tracking number -- within Amazon's system. As soon as that happens, you'll need to call them (NSD) directly to schedule your delivery (even though Amazon's and their websites will show the delivery date you selected upon purchase.) Call and schedule! Otherwise, they'll miss your first delivery and claim they tried to call you but couldn't reach you. Mine was a week late and could have been much closer to on t-me since it arrived to their warehouse about 4 days before my scheduled delivery date. Just call and reschedule with them as soon as it hits the warehouse and has a tracking number. Good luck!

A gym that fits my needs and schedule.
I spent a lot of time debating between the Speediance Gym Monster, AEKE, and Tonal. Speediance ultimately won me over for two reasons: zero monthly fees for guided workouts and no requirement to drill into my walls. Compared to the AEKE, this machine is far more versatile because it includes high mounting points for exercises like lat pull-downs and tricep extensions, which the AEKE lacks. Compared to Tonal, the base mounting points allow for a much more natural feel during squats, deadlifts, and bench presses. The community matters. I joined the facebook groups for each machine prior to buying. AEKE's is small, I wish them the best and further group. Tonal is the OG with tens of thousands of members. But Speediance has just about half of Tonal's members and I got a lot of tips on GM1 vs GM2 and third party attachments before I purchased. Recommended accessories from my perspective: The Bench & Screen: I 100% recommend the adjustable bench - it opens up so much variety. Also, the screen tilt feature is a small detail that makes a massive difference when you're mid-set - don't spend extra on the Max screen (I think you can only get it direct from Speediance) Bluetooth handles: As a middle-aged lifter, digital weight is a revelation. Using the Bluetooth handles, I can get perfectly braced and in position before "turning on" the weight. It saves my joints and makes me feel safe pushing heavy loads alone. I also bought a third party wireless foot pedal. The included finger control ring I use from time to time. Great for Beginners: My wife, who was always intimidated by traditional barbells, now works out independently. I designed custom workouts for her, and she just follows the on-screen prompts. We also love the "Partner Lift" function for working out together. The 220 lb Limit: I initially worried 220 lbs wouldn't be enough, but digital tension feels heavier than iron. By focusing on unilateral movements to fix imbalances and protect my joints, I’ve found it’s more than enough. Again I'm a middle aged lifter. Young powerlifters, you may be looking at products like the Voltra. Overall Verdict: It’s not quite as polished as Tonal, but it’s incredibly close. When you factor in the lack of a need for a high cost $60/month subscription, it’s a no-brainer. They do have Wellness+ which I believe runs only $200ish a year, but I haven't explored it myself. This has been an awesome machine that has brought me back to regular strength training. It's been great to roll downstairs and get to working out rather than driving to the gym.

Amazon Promised a $2,566 Refund—Then Waited Until I Solved Their Delivery Problem
The home gym itself is excellent—solid construction, well-designed, and worth the price. However, my purchase experience was extremely frustrating. My order was delayed and at one point was considered undeliverable, requiring significant effort on my part to locate and recover the shipment. While I'm happy with the equipment now that I have it, the fulfillment experience made this one of the most difficult online purchases I've had. If you're ordering a large, expensive item, be prepared in case delivery issues arise.

True Monster!
Love my Speediance Gym Monster. I looked at a lot of reviews and settled on the works plus bundle. I then bought the handle extenders separate, because the cables do bite into your arms when doing some of the handle workouts. The machine comes very well packaged. My box had some damage, but everything inside was nice and cozy wrapped in foam. It is super easy to set up. The programs are awesome. I love working out along with the trainer and seeing my progress instantly. The machine even counts reps for you, so you don't have to remember where you are at. I think the bluetooth ring is great. Only connection drops are when you don't activate it for an extended time then it powers off to save battery I guess. Never had a random drop. It is a great space saver. I can do everything I used to do at the gym and more, and I don't have to wait for people to stop looking at their phones to finish on a machine! Price was great for what you get, and I love the fact that there are no subscriptions at all unless you want them. Thanks Speediance for getting me back in shape!

I'm very impressed ... and I hardly write reviews
First off, let me just say that I've been in the market for gym equipment ever since I bought my home last year. Like most people, I'm certain, it is quite easy for me to get overwhelmed with the many options for dumbbells, squat racks, benches, etc., not really reaching a conclusion on what I ultimately need to cover the range of workouts and movements that I had been wanting for my home setup. The Speediance Gym Monster honestly is one of the best (large) purchases that I've made that gives quite the bang for your buck. Is the software and user-interface perfect? No, but it is sufficient and more than what I originally expected. The guided workouts are fantastic, and the workout programs can be scheduled so you won't have to spend a great deal of time trying to figure out which chest, leg, or whatever workout you're doing for a particular day. Having the structure built in for programs means all I have to do is show up. The Bluetooth "spotter" device is pretty good, but just make sure you keep it charged. There have been a few times that the wheel to adjust the weight doesn't respond, but it seems that it's pretty responsive if you just charge it via the USB-C cable provided. It's worth mentioning that while this device doesn't require you to mount it to a wall, the caveat is that this is a heavy boy and let me tell ya ... if you plan on carrying this thing up a flight of stairs, you'll definitely need help and don't plan on working out that day either because you'll get a good workout trying to lift it. But once you get it where it needs to live, it does have wheels so it's fairly easy to maneuver. The screen is large, resolution is great, and it has very good touch responsiveness. The build quality is superb, and it doesn't feel as if anything is lacking in the quality control department; this thing feels sturdy and not cheap at all. I've done a pretty wide range of workouts so far, and the trainers definitely will get you sweating and I'm writing this review with sore legs from a workout that whooped my behind. I think this is a great all-in-one solution if you're wanting to do some lifting and have limited space or not wanting to buy a plethora of equipment. Time will tell how long things will hold up, but I have reason to believe that it'll last a good while, and I don't have any sense of buyer's remorse at all with it. Though it's not strictly speaking cheap, I do think it is one of the most competitively priced machines in its sector.

This will help you keep your routine!
This takes away all the excuses for working out. I have never been able to be this committed to working out which is the main thing for anyone, consistency. This also takes all the thinking out of it which is the next biggest issue. It warms you up on the muscles you are working for the day, works out those muscles, and then has you stretch those muscles. It also increases and decreases the weight for you as needed. They have hundreds of built in excersizes including warm ups and stretches so you can completely design your own, go with one of their many preboxed programs or go completely manual mode. There aren't many excercises that you can't do with a cable machine that has anchor points up the wall and on the floor. This is a game changer for sure and with no subscription cost it is incredible. They just upgraded the AI so the preboxed programs are even better. It also made the pulleys smoother which is nice. This is one of my favorite purchases of all time. Now I go to the gym to do the extras like massage and red light and do all my workouts at home so I don't throw off my schedule. P.S. I had Chatgpt help me create a work out and I used the phone app to enter in those workouts so now I can cycle through my customized workouts. It adjusts the weight for me and I can see what routine I did last so I know what is next even if I forget it is all recorded. Very cool technology package. I"m so glad that I purchased!

Compact, Versatile
I was worried based on other reviews that I would receive my machine on the scheduled date or that the incline bench would be missing. Luckily, neither of those things were anything to be worried about! The incline bench came in the same box as the Gym Monster and on the day that was scheduled. The delivery drivers weren't super prepared for the delivery and I did have to help them to get it up my front steps and into my entryway. It is VERY heavy (over 200lbs) but once you open the box and take the bench and accessories out, it's easy to stand upright. The machine itself is great and I love how compact and mobile it is. It was the main selling point for me when comparing it to similar systems. The machine is quiet and is perfect for apartment dwellers. So far the workouts have been great but I would say to just try light weights when first using the straps because 40lbs on a traditional machine is not the same on the gym monster! I almost strung myself up on my first go-round. The safety/assist features are amazing but I wish there was a way to set it globally. It seems that I have to turn it on each time I work out and sometimes I forget. I also wish the yoga mat stayed on the platform when folded (you can see in my photo what happens to it) and one of the magnets already peeled off the mat. Overall I am so excited about this machine and I think it'll help me stay consistent -- I have social anxiety so going to the gym is difficult and I don't always want to lift my bowflex weights up and down. This gives great variety to routines and the lifetime membership and classes alone are worth it!

40 year olds getting in shape
I never enjoyed working out, I never could be bothered to go to a gym. In our 40s, so before it’s too late my partner and I have a reason to get in shape, for our health, helping keep each other accountable, doing our own work outs, our own weight. We’re getting stronger and feel good. Takes up minimal space, minimal inconvenience,

Best purchase I’ve made in recent memory!!!! Until it wasn’t …..
This machine is AMAZING! Its transforming my life. First off, this is easily moveable to just about anywhere in your home, with such a small footprint. Extremely easy to setup and just “get going”!! Since I started using this, I have actually increased my workout times from 60 minutes a day to 180 minutes per day. Why, you ask? When I used to go to the gym, it was get in and get out as fast as I can. Same routine, same exercises, waiting for machine(s), etc. ZZZZZ, boring and easy to find a reason not to go, or like I said, get in and get out. This machine offers essentially a personal trainer built in, with so many exercises to choose from, ones I had never even thought about with my current routine. If considering purchasing, what are you paying for a personal trainer now? Another feature that has helped me tremendously is the range of motion it shows when performing the exercise. I tore my rotator cuff awhile back and have been slowly exercising it back up to snuff. I realized just how much I was overcompensating my exercises to one side upon performing them. I am now able to even out the movements to help build up the strength on the “lame” side again. This alone is extremely valuable, in my case. It is so easy to quickly switch between different exercises and muscle groups. Being able to customize my daily workouts, tracking amount of calories and time spent on a daily, weekly, monthly basis…you really cant go worng with this purchase!!! Did I mention ALL of these features are INCLUDED IN THE PRICE! I so enjoy using this machine, its almost, dare I say “fun” to workout now. Ask yourself this, when is the last time you went to the gym, came home and sometime during your day, you had extra time and said “hey” maybe I’ll go back to the gym and get another short workout in? Uhh NEVER! With the convenience of this machine at home, I find myself firing it back up again and getting another few sets in. I cant thank Speediance enough for literally having an impact on my overall well being. I hope that there may be an opportunity for an upgrade path to the version 2 or even in future, version 3 of this fantastic, well made, piece of equipment. If this is ever an option, count me in! I’m just not sure how they can make it any better….. EDIT: A follow up to my review, after a couple of months use….BUYER BEWARE. The support is DREADFUL. My bench came cracked. Ive been waiting 2 months already for a replacement and NOTHING has been done about it. Now, the left side cable ball that hold the attachment(s), will not release what is connected to it. Currently thats the tricep rope. So, that side is rendered useless unless I only do exercises with the rope. That means no chest, etc. The support just ignores you. So you are pretty much at the whim of the non-existent support. Completely unacceptable for a $4000 + machine.
