Sonichi S100 Digital Car DAB Radio Adaptor/FM Transmitter

Unfortunately the product stopped working after four months, but when contacting the seller I was unable to return it as it was past the returns policy date. I since contacted the seller who has not responded as I would have assumed the product was still under guarantee. The product was fine when it was working, but I don't feel confident that it will last very long and as there seems to be no way of exchanging the faulty goods i would suggest trying another product, from someone else.

Purchased Sonichi Dab converter for car. Quite easy to set up and use for basic listening, but instruction manual will take a while to learn as it is quite involved. A DAB aerial had to be purchased (£19.99), l used one with a separate power supply and this has given excellent results with 38 stations found. (Scottish Borders area where Dab is poor). City areas ect should be a lot better.The display is quite bright at night, but can be dimmed by simply touching the power button.THE CONS -1. The function buttons are not illuminated. So when its dark you can't see what you are trying to press.2. The stalk on which the unit is mounted is quite long, so vibrates and shakes when driving. Much worse over bumpy and rough roads. Can't be good for the unit itself all that vibration. Solved the problem by mounting the stalk so that the bottom of the unit rests on the top of the dashboard hence eliminating the vibrations.3. The worst thing. Doesn't work if ignition is off. There is no built in battery, unlike sat navs, so unit is dependent on the vehicles power supply. This shouldn't be a problem with older vehicles where the radio and cigarette lighter supplies are live. Also, when unit is on (Ignition on but engine off) the unit turns itself off when starting the engine (Due to the power drop required for starting), so have to turn on manually EVERY TIME. For me with my delivery job start/stopping all the time, VERY ANNOYING.Conclusion - All in all good value for money and good performance with the right aerial (£49 + £19.99) and is much cheaper than upgrading a modern custom fit car Hi Fi, although older vehicles with standard fit radios would benefit from a cheap DAB radio for more or less the same price.Pity about no inbuilt battery, no illuminated function buttons, and the turning off when starting engine.Would have been 5☆ otherwise.UPDATE - Now, only works intermittently, the unit lights up but no station display so no sound.Now reduced to 2 ☆

Very poor quality product....worked for 10 mins then it locked up...now when I switch it on all I get is a blank screen. Fitted windscreen ariel and wasted 2 hours of my life trying to get the radio to work.. Nightmare. Seller has been excellent and received full refund without haveng to return radio. Excellent customer service. Radio has now gone in the bin and good riddance.

The Menus are a bit obstructive and take a bit of getting used to; you can get used to it, but it isn't the slickest item in the world.The trouble with this is that the item doesn't last all that long before it goes wrong, partly this is the unit itself, and partly it overloads weaker lighter adaptors.The end result is that you are unlikely to get much useful service life out of it. You can buy something that actually works for not much more, so why buy this?

Bought two, both failed within 4 months. Rubbish aftersales waste of money.
