Parker at their best
It's orange. An expensive ballpoint at over £200, but well worth it. It is precisely made and oozes quality. Parker at their best. I've used it for months now and it's a joy to use.

Dream writer.
Much better than expected. I have an extensive collection of great pens but no Parkers. Like another reviewer I was biased against their modern pens preffering vintage ones. This big red duofold has changed my opinion, above all the nib is a dream and the build quality is sound. Very happy with my purchase maybe I won't be as sniffy towards modern parkers anymore.

Nice pen...shame about the box
I bought the Parker Duofold Blue Chevron fountain pen with 18 karat gold thin nib – the pen itself writes beautifully and feels lovely in the hand. A truly elegant and substantial feeling pen which I feel I got at a bargain price of £300.00 2 weeks ago – the price today is £592.57. The pen is indeed on the heavy side and can envisage myself writing Christmas cards and signing documents but not writing long letters. So why only 3 stars? The pen is a 5 star instrument, no doubt about that and of course it has a price to reflect that. Even with the discounted price of £300, this is still a lot of money for a pen and everything that accompanies this purchase should also reflect this. No blame lies with Amazon as I received the pen on time. What I don’t appreciate is how it arrived. Firstly, a very flimsy card board box with loose tape wound around it, the packaging burst open at one side and then the whole thing rattles! Not the care and attention I was expecting. After opening I find the white Parker sleeve with the pen box inside, only to find a standard, not luxury gift box with 2 ink refills rattling inside - no welcome card and no premium booklet. So 2 stars missing for a shoddy box? Yes, because everything about this purchase should be special – I bought a Parker Sonnet for my partner at £100 and it came with the luxury box which of course complimented the purchase. I would have expected the same for my pen given it is a more prestigious range from Parker. My first impressions were tainted, I felt very subdued about the whole thing and had it not been for the premium condition of the pen, I would have considered returning it. But after all that, I will indeed keep it and hope to enjoy many years of writing, but will also search for a nice box, antiques auction perhaps - thanks for reading.

One of the best
Beautiful gold/iridium nib. Beautiful colour, weight and texture and engraving. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I was going to give up buying fountain pens, but I'm glad I didn't. If I have a reservation - Parker inkflow always seems to be modest: I prefer the heavier flow of some Caran D'Ache and Yardoled models - but they are a bit thinner and don't fill my fist so well.

Superb Parker
This pen is pure quality, all metal which feels very solid in the hand and very comfortable to hold and write with. This pens is an attention grubber with its large gold trims and beautiful Chevron body, a true flagship Parker pen. The fine nib is more like MF which I like. It's not cheap, but in this case I feel it's worth it. I own a Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrand 146, whose list price is higher, and the Duofold Centennial Prestige Chevron is far better and more luxurious for me. I've removed one star because the box it came in was not the luxury one promised on the listing. A nasty let down and would have returned the pen had not liked so much. I you are after a flagship luxurious pen, go for it. This is Parker at its best.

Amazon poor service
The duofold in Centennial vintage red (actually orange) fine nib is actually faultless and it looks superb like the original pre-war colour. A superb writer (note a fine nib writes like a generous medium, I knew this by reading reviews which state this and I can confirm they are correct) and I got a reasonable price. The one star review relates to Amazon NOT TO THE DUOFOLD PEN. The box had been previously opened and although the pen is perfect and appears unused, the gift box has marks on it and the Parker instruction book and guarantee were missing with just an empty space left in the box! There was not the opportunity on the Amazon website to email Amazon customer services and tell them only a crap virtual chat line which was about as useful as a chocolate teapot! The only option I had was presented with was to return the pen which as the pen is superb an an excellent nib on my mine that I could not take the risk of returning and getting a less perfect nib so I'm risking keeping it with no guarantee! Poor service Amazon.

Fabulous design
Beautiful design, really smooth writing, comfortable grip and reassuringly solid design. The colour looks fantastic.

The Duofold just increased Parker’s Urban value tenfold!
My only other pens used are the Pilot Metropolitian (Fine), Parker Jotter (Fine), and a Parker Urban (Medium). I purchased the Parker Duofold in black with yellow gold trim pen with a medium nib. I have only used Mont Blanc ink in it to start... First impressions are very nice. The box which this came in and the converter already in the pen give this pen a very high quality look and feel to it. I filled the converter with some Mont Blanc ink and got to writing. This pen is very wet with that ink! I believe the Mont Blanc ink is thinner than Parker’s Quink and potentially some other inks out there but I haven’t done my homework on that as I love Mont Blanc color offerings. This pen and that ink write like more of a broad or extra broad - very very wet and I don’t think I like that. The larger pen diameter definitely emphasizes this pen’s placement in the Parker family and makes a statement that this is a pen of status. It is well balanced with or without the cap and I wish it could be a little heavier to complete the luxury feel of it. Applying the cap to the end of the pen while writing is a little worrisome to me - there is only a small ridge which captures the cap and it doesn’t go on very far. I do not know if it is properly on and I find myself worrying about it when I write. I don’t mean to detest this pen because I want to love it, but when comparing it to the Parker Urban, it is not worth 10 times the price...I don’t believe it’s a 10 times better writing experience compared to the Urban. Using this pen made me appreciate the Parker Urban that much more - the Parker Urban is 3 times better of a writing experience compared to the Jotter, and the price reflects that. The Duofold is a nice ornament of achievement and gift of success. Being new to the fountain pen culture, I do not see the value of the Duofold, especially in comparison to Parker’s Urban fountain pen. I really really REALLY want to love it and enjoy the solid gold nib, and gold trim pieces and “Duofold” crest in the cap’s end, and the large two-tone Ace on the nib, and perhaps the more I use it, it may grow on me and I will stay open-minded, but for now, I’m at a crossroads.

Parker Duofold Centennial Orange plume fine

Not worth the price
I think the pens sold here are second grade items. The slit of the nib was not cut symmetrically. This is a small issue, but I expect gold nibs at this price point to be perfect. You also do not get a gift package, but standard box. I did send it back because of all this.
