eBags Mother Lode EVD Backpack - Bags (Solid Black)

This is a smaller sized backpack, but it is plenty for my needs. I’m 5’7”, 200lbs and it fits my frame fine despite what other reviews have said. This holds my 14” MacBook Pro with some wiggle room. There aren’t as many pockets in the organizer as with larger eBags backpacks, but it has enough and there are larger pockets you can use efficiently if you have organizers for your stuff. One thing worth noting, and that I wasn’t quite sure of when ordering, is that the laptop compartment has a dedicated zipper and is isolated from the main compartment. The photos lead me to consider that the zipper to access the laptop was just an access to the sleeve in the main compartment. Not the case. The main compartment has a large slip in pocket on the backside and a large zippered mesh pocked on the front side. The laptop compartment is well padded on all sides though I may drop in a strip of foam in the bottom for extra protection considering there’s a few inches of extra vertical space. I’ve been using the same LL Bean bag for the past 12 years and while it’s still functional and in decent condition, it’s tired and has proven to have much more room than I need for my work bag. Wanting something more compact, this is the ticket. Plus the interior of the main compartment can hold a pair of sneakers and a packable down coat. I had this in my watch list for a while and there was a flash deal for $30! So I had to pull the trigger on it and I’m glad I did. I’d buy this bag any day at $45-50 but anything more than that makes it hard to justify for the features and size despite the quality and thoughtful design. Anyways, I love it. Always had good luck with eBags backpacks over the years, but haven't purchased an eBags product for a couple years.Noticed eBags products were selling at fire-sale prices, so ordered three bags.Received a box with only one bag. All three bags are currently listed as no longer available. It appears that since they were out of the other two bags, eBags just shipped one bag and charged me for all three bags.

I bought this for my 17 year old son for school and he really likes it. The only thing missing is a side pocket for water bottles, but can’t really blame that on the manufacturer. Great for the price. I would recommend.

It’s study, and there are lots of pockets and compartments, but it’s on the small side and feels more like a kid’s backpack than something for an adult.

This is the perfect travel backpack for my laptop. I have the eBags Mother Lode Jr Backpack, but I find it gets to be a bit heavy if I have anything more than my Laptop and portable monitor. I decided to try this backpack when it was on sale for $29 and it is wonderful. Large enough for my laptop, portable monitor, cords, mouse, and items used on the plane. The design is almost identical to the Mother Lode backpack and is great for staying organized when flying. Two thumbs up!
