Worked perfectly for insulating a smoky fireplace surround. I had a new chimney liner installed when I purchased my home last year. But when I started using the fireplace this last season I noticed smoke marks on my newly whitewashed interior brick. Researching what could be causing this...everyting from negative air flow in my house to needing to replace the surrounding door insulation. When I removed the door I found that I didn't need to replace the insulation...there wasn't any there to replace! This insulation kit worked perfectly! I did purchase two kits to double insulate..but I'm just that kind of girl. One covered the whole insert.

My fireplace door was installed with the insulation that came with the door, but I still had gaps that needed to be filled. I bought this insulation and peeled the insulation in layers and stuffed them in the gaps between the brick and the door. It worked great. I can't comment on how well the adhesive worked on the tape since I didn't need to use it.

Love the doors. They look very nice and well made. Need to provide more and thicker insulation for around the edges to cover any openings in brick.

High quality. Excellent fireplace face insulation. This is the forth brand I bought and the only one worth the money.

was just enough to go around the fireplace door. There is no glue to hold it in place, but I didn't need it. I liked the fact that it blends in fire place.

This is grey not black as stated, hard to work with , falls apart when trying to put in place.
