Do not waste your time with the non absorbent pellets!!!! I got the Pawcheck kit at first and bought 2 of those. My cat was so confused and refused to use the litter box. It was so stressful. The hydrophobic sand WORKS!! Get this kit instead of any others!!! One kit was enough for us but it couldn’t hurt to get 2. I liked that the sample pipette and the sample vial were packaged cleanly in a plastic baggie. The pawcheck kit just threw the pipette and sample cup into the package Willy Billy and it had pieces of the cardboard that it came in on it. Do not get the pawcheck crap, it is literal crap. I only got it because of a urine collection video tutorial that I had watched. Seriously wish that I would have just ordered this instead. Cystocentesis was something we wanted to avoid, but we were willing to do it if this didn’t work. Hydrophobic is the way to go 👍

I am SO grateful for this litter. I spent $300 on blood and urine tests at the vet, but they weren't able to get a sample due to his agitation. The other option is home collection, so I went to pick up the test kit and thought I was being punked. Two *tablespoons* of litter was provided from the vet...........What cat will go in an essentially empty box? Not mine!! The tips I researched weren't working, but this litter did the trick. I used all 3 bags and just put it in a (lined) small plastic box, so it looked more full. I removed the normal litter boxes and within 3 hours, he used the box! The urine beads up perfectly and its very easy to use a syringe or pipette (provided) to obtain the sample. I would recommend getting 2 orders, if your cat is extra picky.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:My cat is picky about her litter. None of the other non absorbing litters have worked. But this has. I used all three bags and was able to get a sample of urine to take to the vet. I washed the litter, and set it aside to dry. If it dries well ill use it again. Consistency feels like sand. So its realistic. Worth using!

Worked well. Only hard part was getting my old girl to pee on the special litter. Finally was able to get a sample.

Some cats may not use this product. But it is great for getting urine samples without having to take the cat to the vet with you

This kitty litter does work as stated, i.e., the sand doesn’t absorb the urine. Two problems though. One, the amount of litter is tiny. I bought 2 bags & it barely covered the bottom of the box. My cat did use it (good) but this brings me to problem #2. You have to get to the box as soon as you can after the cat uses it or the pee spreads all over and you can’t suction it up. I spent more money than I wanted to and had to dump the whole thing out without getting a specimen. Will not buy again & my vet won’t get a urine sample!

Worked really well. My cat used the litter no problem and it was easy to get the sample. The only downside is that the litter leaves a film on cats paws or their coat if your cat is like mine and rolls around it/plays in it first 🙄

Works as described. My vet was not able to get a urine sample from my elderly cat. This was suggested to me by a Chewy vet consultation. It's like sand, unlike theplasti-litter that my cat wouldn't go near.I was able to successfully get a sample for a urinalysis.
