Nice Chapter book to read with your kids
My son is a HUGE Lightning McQueen fan. He's a little too young (5) to read on his own, so I read it to him. We did a chapter or two a night and he really enjoyed it. He loved hearing about his first sponsor (Smell Swell) and we actually picked up one of his Smell Swell cars at a big box store. If your child is a Cars fan, this will be a hit. There is also a book about Jackson Storm, which we also read and my son enjoyed.

Good
There were some flaws in terms of realism and consistency with Cars 1 but overall I'd say it's a fun book, especially for the target audience, kids, who probably wouldn't notice the flaws as much. Would recommend to Cars fans.

A nice little book for cars fans
An interesting look into part of Lightning McQueen’s possible background and some fun interactions with other characters from Radiator Springs. It shows McQueen was he was just starting out racing, how he got into pro racing and some other bits with Doc Hudson. Overall it’s a nice little read that Cars fans and kids will like. Though whether any of it is cannon to Lightning’ s background is suspect as it’s never been mentioned before and some other works contradict parts of the story but really a lot of Pixar stuff is like that, so it probably doesn’t matter at all. Just enjoy it for what it is.
