I needed something thin, and this works great. These were very easy to install. I don't know if they actually hold 30 lbs, but it's definitely enough to hold two doors together.

There is a large older 8ft tall IKEA closet type thing upstairs in my bungalow that was built and left by a previous tenant but it isn't wide enough for the doors to fully close with all my suits and shirts hanging in it. So I needed a solution that would force the doors closed and stay closed. These magnets worked perfectly and they are pretty strong. After replacing the IKEA handles with metal ones I just used the provided screws and screwed in the plates on the top and bottom of the large closet doors and...problem solved! Now the doors click closed and don't bulge out anymore looking sloppy. The magnetic force does require some effort to open them up but with a quick pull they pop open. Note: If you don't intend to screw the magnets and plates into your cabinet/closet door(s) then I don't think these will work for your needs. I highly doubt the adhesive stickers would be able to stand up to repeated use considering how strong the magnetic hold is.

If you don’t want to screw these in, like I didn’t, then there are a couple things you can do- which took a lot of trial and error for me unfortunately. These magnets are strong and they work. Bottom line. However, I misunderstood that these didn’t come with sticky back adhesive, it came with a glue adhesive. If a person didn’t want to screw into their walls, I assume they also wouldn’t want to put glue adhesive on their walls. I decided to grab some command poster strips and adhere the magnet onto those then onto the door so they may link up and work. These are advertised to work for cabinets but these magnets are strong enough to keep a door closed as well. My room door doesn’t stay closed and I used these instead of hassling with my building’s maintenance. I only used one but I assume that using both sets would only make it better. I think they are worth it and hopefully if you are like me and want to do as little to the walls as possible, you see this first or think to use command strips. Side note: keep in mind the command strips will add thickness so please take that into consideration when buying these. There is a lot of space in between my door and the frame, therefore the thickness kind of helped. Also if you can clearly see where your door has more space, then obviously you want to put these where they will seamlessly close onto each other- if you are installing these the way I did.

Works well on the pantry door. Strong magnet, almost to strong.

I put these magnets on a pocket door and they work great! Easy installation. These magnets are very strong.

These work great probably better for larger projects. They were a little too strong for a smaller drawer I needed them to hold closed on our RV, but holding on to them for future use. Good value would buy again. Just used some electrical tape on the magnet to make it a little less strong so I could open the drawer easier. Almost would not budge open without the tape it was such a strong hold.

I’m having a little trouble getting the screws flat enough to not interfere, but the product is great.

I struggled with what type of magnets I wanted and strength for a wood screw door we have going into our garage off our kitchen that we use almost exclusively as means for entering our home. I have a dog and my son has dogs and when they are over o don't want them to easily push the screen door open as there is no lock or latch it has self closing hinges and that helps keep it closed. I've tried a couple and this one for the method I don't work for one and after I installed the first one I go to find one of the magnets was cracked in half something I wasn't expecting or even looking for. I was hoping having a second magnet would give me just enough resistance that the dogs would not push it open so easily. I am giving it 3 stars to be fair because the method I was trying I don't believe this is the strength of the magnets. I installed them on the inside of the door jams so they would face each other when the door is closed like a latch and catch. Either the magnets stuck together making them hit each other as the door closed or too far apart to be any good. I believe if these were facing each other like pages of a book closing it would have been more effective but I don't have enough jam for the piece to fit properly. So the downgrade is magnets that arrived cracked and then I had to take the one off and send it back. I wish I inspected them better but who expects magnets to be cracked In half?

Worked very well to keep my dual pocket doors from opening too easily. Used only one but two would have been even stronger to keep the dual pocket doors from shifting open or my dog’s nose from opening them. No complaints, strong magnets!
