Great quality. I have several of the MC-2. The latest one is a global one. It his well made and reliable. Good for navigation beyond mere cardinal directions.

Great quality. In my opinion, no other compass-clino comes close to Suunto for this price range

The compass does not work. The needle does not move at all. After reading a whole bunch of reviews, I thought that this would be an amazing addition to my hiking gear. But alas it just does not work at all! As you can see in the pictures next to my other working compass, the needle does not move!

Parfait pour prendre les orientations.

I was a little worried after seeing some of the reviews here, but the SUUNTO MC-2G USGS (360 degrees and global needle variant) I received is very nice. The numbers and directions are printed clearly and precisely, and there are no manufacturing defects nor structural integrity issues. A very well made compass.I only have a couple minor nitpicks. The first is that setting the magnetic declination is a little challenging to get precise, but once you have it where it needs to be it's reliably accurate - double check it by lining up the "shed"/"doghouse" directly ahead and view from the mirror line. For me the local magnetic declination is about 3 degrees west, which is one and a half marks counterclockwise from true north. The second nitpick is that the hands of the compass can get held up with the pitch angle plumb line arm. This seems to only be an issue when using the pitch angle function of the compass, but not when holding it flat and using it as a compass. For that it spins freely and accurately.I attached my own lanyard with pace counting beads - to stow the compass in a breast pocket or chest plate carrier admin pouch and let the lanyard hang out from there to use.So, based on the one I received at least, I can highly recommend this compass. Impecável a bússola

Die Qualität der Kompasse von Suunto/Recta ist einfach Spitze. Hierbei handelt es sich um die globale Version. Das bedeutet die Nadellagerung ist getrennt vom Magneten was eine Verwendung in Gebieten mit starker Inklination (meist auf der Südhalbkugel) ermöglicht. Das spiegelt sich allerdings auch im Preis etwas wieder. Dennoch würde ich sagen liegt dieser Kompass im guten Mittelfeld was den Preis betrifft.Beim MC-2G handelt es sich um einen Hybridkompass, welcher die Vorteile eines reinen Kartenkompass (Transparente Bodenplatte) und einem Peilkompass vereint. Dies schafft er meiner Meinung nach auch sehr gut.Ich habe mich für die 6400 Strich Variante entschieden, da ich bei der Bundeswehr diese ebenfalls nutze. Es gestaltet sich meiner Meinung nach einfacher mit 64 zu arbeiten (Bspw. Beim umgehen von Hindernissen) als mit 360°. Anzumerken ist allerdings das die Deklinationskorrektur in Grad eingestellt wird.Die Problematik mit den unterschiedlich hohen bzw. eingelassenen Gummifüssen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Da es nur drei Füße sind, ist es eigentlich total egal ob einer höher ist oder nicht. Wackeln tut dort definitiv nichts wenn man nicht eine Seite belastet.Etwas schade finde ich allerdings das sich die Kompassdose etwas schwer drehen lässt. Vielleicht ist es nur mein persönliches Empfinden, was ich aber nicht glaube. Ich besitze mit diesem Kompass jetzt den vierten Kompass überhaupt. Alle von namhaften Herstellern wie Silva, Recta oder Breithaupt und muss sagen bei allen dreht die Dose etwas leichter.Auch das oft angesprochene Axialspiel an der Dose selbst ist tatsächlich vorhanden. Allerdings hält es sich im Rahmen und somit auch in der Toleranz der Herstellerangabe.
