I am using QZATTCAEN’s milling vise jaw stop as a lathe carriage stop for my old Atlas 6” metal lathe. For this purpose, I had to put a small shim of cork under the lower jaw to get it to fit. The shim also ensures that there is no damage to the lathe’s way. The minimum distance of the jaw spacing when it is fully tightened is 11.5mm. This is a key dimension to determine if this stop will work with your vise or other application. The offering shows dimensions but not this one, so be sure to check before ordering.The manufacturing quality of the stop is adequate. The jaws and screws have a black finish and the guides and stop bar are bright with a ground finish. The stop represents good value for the cost point.

This little vise stop is really handy. It can be used in so many ways (or on so many ways...)!If you do any kind of machine work or are in the world of machining, you know what this is and what it's for and how handy it is! A jaw stop is just one of those little jigs that make repetitive jobs so much easier and faster.I know a lot of people just make these (or several) as a simple "first project" along with miniature screw jacks, but if you don't have time, this is a decent option and it works pretty well.You need to have a vise that has a little purchase on the edge of the jaw. most good milling vises should have this, but I have seen some vises that don't have much of a lip.This can also be used as a stop on your ways, again if you have the right geometry there to get clamped on to.This stop has an adjustable pin which makes it super handy for dialing it in. you don't have to move the whole clamp, just get it close and then dial in the stop with the pin. It's also good for getting clearance and keeping the stop body out of the way.Super handy gadget that will find a ton of uses in any machine shop. Hobby or pro.

Expected better

This Mill stop is a very simple concept. I am very pleased with this new tool and it is very basic and sometimes that's better than something that is complex. It's not the greatest quality but it does the job perfectly. I would highly recommend this for any machinist.
