Great coverage for potted planters indoors or outdoors. Protects from outdoor "visitors" from digging up the ground.

Over the course 5 tanks, from 5 gallons now up to 60, I've mixed and matched gravel. Over more than a year, with each cleaning, the tiny little rocks have been strained & cleaned out. Now all the gravel is larger than strainers' mesh - and the dust is gone. So I wanted something darker, and didn't want to add dust, or go through the sifting out small pieces of gravel all over again. These are nice sized pebbles, larger than most gravel. More importantly, they are clean. I ended up getting 3, 5-lb bags over the course of 3-weeks. Each bag was free dust. For each bag, I did a quick rinse, soaked them for at least a day, and when I strained the water, the waster was still clear. These are easy to vacuum, and the fish can move them when they forge for food on the bottom. Highly recommend.

The sand works great for my shrimp tank. It's a really good product. Do you pour the water in slowly? And I would use like a plate or something to diffuse the pressure. You'll find you have hardly any sand disturbance or rising to the top. I'm getting ready to order two more bags for my new tank I'm setting up.

I'm not sure why these are a dark brown. They are not black. I noticed a weird film on top of the water even after rinsing. I'm really disappointed since these are not cheap and my betta was already ill and I don't think this helped the situation. I have to redo the entire tank again and buy something else. I'm scared to keep these rocks in there in fear I might lose him.

I’m giving one star because it’s mentioned that the sand is 5LB which is around 2.200 grams I received only 1.800 grams The sand is super fine but good
