Essential Tool for Photographers and Filmmakers
The Sekonic FLASHMATE L-308X is a reliable and versatile exposure meter that truly earns its spot in any photographer or filmmaker's toolkit. Compact and lightweight, it’s perfect for on-the-go shoots without adding unnecessary bulk to your gear bag.The dual-purpose design accommodates both still photography and cinematography needs, allowing easy switching between modes. The accuracy of the readings is exceptional, ensuring that your exposures are spot-on whether you're working with natural light, studio setups, or mixed lighting conditions.I particularly appreciate the inclusion of both incident and reflected light metering options, which makes it adaptable to various scenarios. The LCD display is clear and easy to read, and the intuitive interface means you can quickly adjust settings even under pressure. For filmmakers, the cine mode with shutter angle and frame rate options is a great addition, making it much easier to plan shots precisely. The only minor drawback is that it feels a little plasticky for the price point, but its performance more than makes up for it. Overall, the Sekonic L-308X is a fantastic investment for creatives who demand precision and reliability in their work.

Price
On the pricey side and feels like its made of thin plastic, on the other hand it works really well, both apperture and speed priorty also gives EV results. Can be adjusted if required. Fantastic small meter,Be sure to use the supplied neck strap to avoid damage if dropped. Very pleased with it.

Decent flash meter
A good and inexpensive meter that can measure flash exposures, which is what I needed it for.Small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and uses an AA battery, which makes keeping it working easy.Recommended.

Flimsy Plastic
My old trusty L-308S was destroyed when I (unusually) left a battery in it that leaked acid. I have to say that, in comparison with that older version, this newer one feels disappointingly cheap. The new plastic is of the light and fragile variety, and if it were dropped (Heaven forbid), it would smash into a thousand pieces, I'm sure. I am pretty disappointed with it.I also don't like that, in FLASH mode, and after making a reading, you cannot scroll up and down to give shutter speed/aperture pairings of that one reading. If you reset the aperture/speed, you have to remeasure. Seems a pretty dumb decision to do that.If there were an alternative, I would try it, believe me.

Looks great but not cheap
Simple to use makes taking photos a little easier.

The exposure time jumps 1/125 to 1/250. There are no settings for times in between.
I received the product in a condition consistent with the description of the seller with a small exception. Referring to this; '' For students, and experienced photographers alike, the Flashmate L-308X is ideal for reading ambient or flash exposures in either reflected or incident modes, and it displays accurate exposure readings in full, half, or third-stop increments to mirror the exposure settings of today's DSLR, Mirrorless and film cameras. ''I personally think more detail should be used here, especially for students. This light meter only shows a setting of 1/125 and then 1/250 for flash operation. As we know, some cameras end their scale with time 1/200 and if someone has no idea how to handle it then it can be troublesome for him. Therefore, this detail should be mentioned in an obvious way, not hiding behind technical language. As for me, I'm happy because even if I need to use different exposure times, I can handle it. The product meets my expectations not only because of its functionality but also because of its compact size.

Sekonic FLASHMATE L-308X
Handy device for taking exposure measurements. This model allows for cinema camera settings such as frame rate and shutter angle rather than just straight shutter speed settings.
