have been upgrading all of my aging monitoring cameras in the house lately and of all the cameras I’ve been looking at, this is the most “unknown” brand (the others were big players like Nest / Netgear…) so I felt not so assured when I decided to purchase this one, and turned out I was making the right decision.Honestly, I have to say I was immediately impressed by its sleek texture and looking when I receive the unit, it felt like it can even be a great decoration in the house. I wanted this to go beside my TV in the living room and the size & color are perfect to fit there. One will notice the bigger black part in the front so this won’t be a discreet camera or hidden camera of any kind, but this is not a problem for me since I don’t mind people knowing I have a monitoring camera there so they better behave. The installation is so smooth and easy that I found myself viewing and play with pan/tilt function maybe 10 minutes after unpacking. Needless to say I replaced my old cam with this one instantly and I hated myself for not getting this spotcam earlier, the video is so much better, not only the picture is crisp in the day, the night vision is also good and the fact you can remotely move the camera direction just rocks!!What also impressed me are those features related to pan tilt control, for example you can save preset points in the camera so you can quickly move the camera to frequent positions without moving manually every time. Also the patrol function is another thoughtful feature, I am not sure is this common but in my older network cam they don’t have it, and it is just so useful. The other thing I noticed is that this spotcam move smoother than the others, guess they arranged mechanical parts better inside the case.The camera has "talking" function so I can speak remotely and the sound will go through and be heard at the camera side. Audio quality is ok for basic communication but will be difficult for a long conversation, but I guess that is not a major issue since the purpose of this function is not for conference call anyway. I use this talking function to play with my dog and it is interesting to see their response.I'm still trying to find a best value for the motion sensitivity on the motion sensor but that's something that can take a few days to tweak anyway and with motion block functions it can prevent most unwanted alerts already. Oh one thing I almost forgot, there is free cloud recording comes with this camera, no strings attached, simply free cloud recording and it is not only video event snippets, it is real full time recording, how good is that! Like mentioned, I felt I made a right decision buying this spotcam instead of others, and somehow I believe this brand will gets popular soon as I am seeing many things not provided by other providers and only available with spotcam.

I had this one and 2 more Spotcam cameras ordered at same time. I wanted to try this one because of the free 1 day continuous recording, rather than paying $100/yr for 3 day continuous recording with Nest camera. Even with 3 day recording, price for cloud recording is reasonable with Spotcam. Video quality was good. Audio quality was good. Quality of the camera felt very nice. The outdoor models have nice texture. Motion sensing was good. The problem came from the dropped connectivity. This was too consistent. When on live few, video would stop because of lost connectivity. I tried number of different settings, but nothing worked. Sense Pro also has an 100db alarm. Unfortunate thing was that it can only be triggered if the alarm is triggered. I can't simply press a button to activate the alarm like a panic button. Connectivity issue was worst with Sptocam Sense Pro. Other 2 cameras were Spotcam outdoor (not Sense model). Well, they had same issues. I made sure they were on 2.4ghz wifi as well. Seeing that all 3 had same issue no matter what I did, I decided to return all of them. I was really disappointed. Time for another brand to try.

One of the best cameras I have bought in my quest to buy a monitoring system. It is the only one that record 24 hours. It is also completely free There is only one other camera that record for 24/7 but it requires an expensive subscription per camera. The reason I return this camera is that there is no way to speed up videos viewing so watching a motion triggered event is hard. This sounds silly but it is hard to explain. Downloading the videos is probably the best way to get around this but the downloads for even a video that is less than a minute takes forever. The camera works best on its app but is practically non-functional on the computer/internet. If anyone is uncertain, I would say to try it out. You might be okay with the level of functionality. Maybe it would be improved by the time you buy this camera. last edited 8/13/18

Pros:- Good build quality, solid unit- Very sharp HD picture (1080p) & decent night vision- IFTTT ready out of the box- Long cable and fairly easy installation- Free 24 hour cloud storage included- Live monitoring and active loudspeaker and microphoneCons:- Very expensive compared with comparable cameras- Awkward design for an outdoor camera - should be a bullet or dome design. Looks as if they simply used the indoor version design and made it waterproof?- Power cable & camera itself can be detached from the power so should be mounted in an out of reach location- Motion sensor is not great, pretty much unusable. The Low Sensitivity setting still picks up outdoor lights coming on and rain (this is almost a deal breaker for us). We contacted Spotcam for support but they have not replied since purchase - 2 weeks or so ago.- App is 'ok' however could be better designed with more functions. The web portal should allow full screen live viewing.- There should be Synology recording capabilities or an SD card stored within the camera itself. Neither of these exist.
