Quick and easy to replace the battery
My APC 1500 GI UPS stopped working and the PowerChute software app was showing a replace battery symbol. (I can't complain as the original battery lasted 7 years). I ordered this battery as a replacement and it came next day. It was so easy to swap, just switched off, unplugged the unit and laid it on it's side, removed the battery cover, pulled the old battery out (using the pull tabs on it) and pushed this replacement battery into the slot. I then slid the battery cover back on, stood it upright, plugged it in and switched on. Using the PowerChute software I selected the self test menu and clicked the update battery replacement date button, which changed the battery replacement date to today's date. I then clicked on the self test button to run a self test, which told me it passed. The unit is now back in full operation and running on this new battery. I am really pleased at how quick and easy the whole process was, with no tools required!

Easy to fit and works well
Very effective replacement battery, if rather expensive.

APCRBC124 does fit and work with APC Back UPS RS Pro 900VA
I did a lot of research into the APCRBC123 that came out of my APC RS Pro 900. Took the plunge and ordered the 124 unit and it definitely works - it's identical apart from the storage increase. Just had an outage about a week after fittting and it was showing significantly better numbers than the 123 and that's comparing it to the same equipment when the 123 was new - like for like, in fact it's powering 2 monitors now. Given the few quid difference between the 123 and the 124 it's a no brainer, just check that you do indeed have the removeable battery. Some reviews talk about it not charging as quickly as a result. I have no overheating, the unit runs just as it did without any alterations or settings.

It's a battery
What can you say? It does the job and it's overpriced, like all batteries. I suppose I could also say it's easy to fit, but that's a function of the UPS as opposed to the battery. Just pull out the old one and push in the new one, five seconds all done.

Perfect for the XS1300. Much better to replace the battery than buy a new unit!
Covid: undoubtedly reworked many home offices for "these challenging times". As a professor, I needed to rethink my home office, as all my lectures have moved online. "Get a UPS," the online teaching community recommended, "so you can keep teaching during a blackout." Didn't I already have one? Yes, I did! Many years ago, I purchased the APC XS1300 for my home theatre, which has since been retired - so long ago, that I can't remember when I bought it. I rigged the unit up, and felt secure that yes - I now had a UPS with my computer, sound system, monitors, and mixing board plugged into it. Then, I had an actual power failure during an online meeting. The lights went out around me. The unit chirped up - the fan spun, responding immediately to the interruption. Then, one minute later, the UPS shut down. The "dead battery" icon flashed on the LCD screen. And why should the battery last longer than a minute? How old is this thing? Definitely more than 5 years, perhaps closer to 10. So off I went to Amazon, to find a new UPS. YIKES! What happened to prices since I bought this thing? Understandably, they rose significantly. The XS1300 I learned has an easily replaceable battery - one that simply slides out, and snaps back in. You can even replace the battery with the power on. So rather than spending over $200 for a similar UPS, I researched the next best option: replacing the battery. I figured even if I managed to get to 10 minutes of backup power, it would be a ten-fold improvement from the 1 minute I had with the original battery. Although the 7 Ah battery was recommended for the XS1300, I spotted the 9 Ah version: the APCRBC124 by Schneider Electric. I reviewed the comments, and saw that people reported it fit into the XS1300. So why wouldn't I opt for a higher capacity battery? The APCRBC124 arrived at the happy speed of Prime shipping, and snapped perfectly into the XS1300. It had a QC slip taped to it, reporting that it had been tested recently this year, 3 months prior. It was reassuring that the battery hadn't been sitting in a warehouse for years. After an overnight charge, the LCD still estimated "1 min" remaining of backup time. So I decided to do a test. With all devices plugged in, my power consumption rated between 60-85W, which was ~10% of the load that the unit said it could supply. I set Amazon Music Prime on loud, so that I could hear when the music stopped. A solid 1 hour and 16 minutes later, the UPS turned off and beeped, reporting that the battery was drained. This morning, after an overnight charge, the unit is recalibrated to the new battery (more or less). It's telling me that I have 13 minutes remaining instead of 1, which is more than the 1 minute it reported before - but I know the truth. I have over an hour of backup power, which means I could finish the lecture and even entertain some questions. Mission accomplished! Bottom line: if you have the XS1300, or a UPS that fits this series, I recommend this exact battery.

Werkt netjes
