Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox, for Boys and Girls Ages 1-6 Years

The great grandkids are really enjoying their turtle sandbox! Great quality and easy to put together.

Great size! My 3 yr old nephew loved it. Took a bit to assemble but seems sturdy with sand in it. Lid fits well and is tethered to the base.

My son loves this. But I sware these were bigger when I was a kid. My son can only sit in here by himself. If two kids want to play in the sand they have to sit outside the box. It was a little bit of a pain to assemble and definitely only for sand because one section would not stay down completely so water would leak through if you thought of using this for something else. I’m not sure how much sand got through the bottom because we filled it outside and haven’t moved it yet. The little latch to hold the lid on already broke off but that could be my fault when putting it together.

Years ago I bought this turtle sand box for my daughter, now we bought for her daughter the turtle sand box, my daughters sand box came in 1 piece, this sand box came in multi pieces, quality of the product has gone downhill alot.

Kid loves it. Needs two 50 lb bags of sand. The little latch on the head of the turtle does not keep the lid in place so I just use two bricks to keep the lid on. Also. Is not one solid piece. It’s four interlocking pieces that form the sandbox. I only bring it up because the old turtle sandboxes used to be one giant piece.

We ordered the sandbox as a Christmas gift for our 3 year old and he loves it! My husband put it together inside to place under the tree. He had no problem with the assembly and it was easy to transport outside also. It isn’t real big, but we live in a rural area and the well fitting shell that covers and protects it, along with the price makes it a good choice! It holds three 5 lb bags of play sand. We haven’t had it long enough to find out if there will be a problem with water retention.

It’s a good size for my baby. The color is eye catching. Easy to build. There was no missing parts. I love that it comes with a lid. My baby can stand on it and it’s seems really sturdy. Holds a good amount of dirt. I bought it on sale I would recommend.

I give this three stars for being cheaper than the other options and having a lid, but it is a far cry from the solid turtle sandboxes we grew up with in the 80s. This comes in multiple pieces that do not snap together cleanly, meaning it is not water-tight. It will not be doubling as a little kiddie pool or keeping your sand totally dry. It’s also too small. Only one kid can really play in it at once unless everyone stays outside of it. Also the head pops off every time you open the lid. Overall a huge disappointment that works ok for a toddler who doesn’t remember the glory days of sandbox turtles.

During the hot weather I bought this for my 2 dogs to cool down. Wow best thing I’ve bought them. Great that the lid or turtle back comes off and keeps it covered. My neighbours little girl was in and out of the pool too having a great time. I can see how excellent it would be as a sand pit too for kids. But during our heatwave it was a god send for the dogs keeping them lovely and cool. So worth every penny for this item. I clean it out easily every few days or so as it gets grubby with the dogs and then the water goes on the garden. Only don’t do what I did last time and that is tip it up to empty the water out as the weight cracked the base open. Use a jug to empty into a bucket and then water your plants or into the drain. Definitely a Best Buy of the year item.

Good size, hell difficult to put together, clips do not allign that well, screw holes some are good some just trun, average quality. I do not recommend this product personally for what it cost!! Very disappointed and will keep an eye on this as it will be in a creche and used alot!!! 4 on 10 mark!!
