Dried Lotus Seeds 1lb White Lotus Seed without Cores Cooking Porridge Soup

I grabbed this 1lb bag of dried white lotus seeds to try out because I have never had them before and wanted to try something new, and I am really pleased with the quality. The packaging is sturdy and keeps the seeds completely dry and fresh until you are ready to use them. Opening the bag, you get a very clean, mild, and natural smell with absolutely no mustiness. The seeds themselves look wonderful. They are quite large, round, and clean, and so far I have used half the bag and only found one little green core, which is great. Preparing them is very straightforward. I just soak them in water overnight, and they soften up beautifully. I love tossing them into slow-simmered soups or making them into little snacks. Once they cook down in soup, they get a wonderfully soft, almost buttery texture and a mild, slightly sweet taste that my family really enjoys. When I air fry them, they get nice and crispy and taste great when I toss them with sweet and savory seasonings. They are highly nutritious and add a nice, comforting element to our meals. A full pound is a generous amount of seeds that will last me for a while. It is a fantastic value for the price, especially for a speciality item that is already prepped with the bitter skins and cores removed. If you like making traditional Asian soups or just want a healthy, starchy addition to your pantry, this bag is a great choice. I have already moved them into their own airtight, labeled container in my pantry, and I will be refilling it whenever it is low so I always have some on hand!
