Sturdy but could be better
I've always been skeptical of this type of mount - the vent louvers don't seem sturdy enough and even if it works it's going to block the airflow. I decided to try it on our new Pacifica, though, as there's not another great place to put a phone. I think maybe car manufacturers have started making those louvers thicker/stronger too. In the Pacifica there's barely enough room; I'm either blocking a bit of the phone with the steering wheel or blocking a bit of the nav screen with the phone. Of course this has nothing to do with the product I'm reviewing.I think the attachment to the vent is great. It's got a hook that goes around behind the louver and which tightens to the back, in addition to the spring-loaded clip. It feels very secure. (Here I again I worry about the leverage that is possible from the phone: The louver will surely break before the mount comes unclipped.) Next is a ball-mount which can tighten down to your chosen position; this also works great. The phone cradle itself could be improved somewhat. I've used several different kinds of these. This one closes by manually squeezing the two sides against the phone, and releases by squeezing a pair of buttons on the sides. These buttons are too small and difficult to reach behind the phone. The arms are nicely padded but it's impossible with my phone to adjust them so they don't push a side button. The lower support moves in and out but it has very little travel; not enough to avoid pushing the buttons. So I'm giving it 4 stars, since it gets my phone out the cup holder and works fine, and the price isn't bad ($20 right now). But I could imagine some things to make it better.

Most usable phone mount I have seen
The media could not be loaded. I have been driving for a long while and I have seen a variety of phone mounts over time. I have used the ones that glue onto your dashboard and give up the ghost in hot sun, sometimes damaging the dashboard in the process, the clip ones that clip to the vent and fall off on the first bump and the suction mounts that attach to the wind shield.Anyways, this mount comes in two pieces (a) the piece that connects to the vent and (b) the actual phone mount that holds the phone. Both these pieces are connected via a ballhead that allows you to orient the phone to your heart's content. So - for the vent mount part of it, its fine, OK. A 4/5 I would say. I recently installed a magsafe mount on my driver side vent and the hook that goes inside the vent was much longer and a bit wider than this one. That being said, this one functions, so no points off for that. There is a bit of ingenuity in this design on top of the vent hook i.e. the clip. So, instead of just relying on the hook, they have additionally added a lever to the mount which you press down and that opens two plastic clamps that can grab the vent fin. That is fairly ingenuous. Unfortunately, the vents in my Toyota Sienna hybrid are made kind of weird and the clamp did not work for me but the vent mount still grabbed on and in fact better than the magsafe mount that I had previously purchased. Overall, it works, so a 4/5Now let's get to the phone mount part of this. With my magsafe mount, I realized that the magnet holds onto my phone pretty strong, which is something I DO WANT! However, when I am taking the phone off, I have to pull it, which means I am applying force on the vent fin. I did not think about pulling onto the vent everytime I took the phone off when I bought it but it did become apparent. I have a concern that one day, the vent fin may just give up. This one does not suffer from the same problem and that is again due to a very ingenuous solution on the mount design. In the vertical orientation, you push two small buttons on each side of the phone mount and that causes the two clamps for your phone to _automatically_ spread out to max position. There is no force needed in this step on the mount. Then you put your phone inside gently and then you gently just push the clamps back so your phone is secure. That's it. When you need to take the phone out, you press the two buttons on the two sides, without applying any undue force on the vent fin and the clamps expand automatically. Boom!! Mind blown!! 🤯🤯🤯Ok, really, I can hypothesize that the way they have designed is there is some version of rack and pinion with a spring thrown in to push the phone clamps apart when you press the button. When you leave the button, something obstructs the rack movement and your mount stays exactly where it is. The reason I have this theory is because I can see very tiny, like 0.5mm teeth at the bottom of the clamp.Anyway, for non mechanically inclined folks, the clamps work by magic :)The phone rotates, angles to any orientation and in general can be positioned as you want. The look of the phone mount is pretty cool with the texture on the inside of the mount.Ovearll:Construction: 5/5Looks 5/5Function 5/5Not applying unnecessary stress on my vent fin - 10/5Sadly, amazon only allows a max of 5/5 so that is where this will stay.

Great Phone holder
This is a very decent and stable car phone holder. I have a 21 Ultra and this holder handles my phone very well. Now it doesn’t come with instructions so I had to figure out how to install this. At first it wasn’t sturdy and fell off. After spending more time I had to realign my vent so this holder can be sturdy. Once I did that I haven’t had an issue since! I am able to connect my phone to a charger, the tabs don’t interfere with the buttons on my phone, and it doesn’t move even with every bump or bounce while driving. The material is very well made The inside of the tabs that hold the phone have rubber so it won’t scratch or damage your phone in anyway.

Sturdy
While it stays in place and very sturdy if u have a large phone it is top heavy and i prefer it to be on the right of me. But it is only straight to the right. So if it is 9n the right of u, you need to bend sideways to see ur phone. But if it is to the left of you it is fine.

Best vent phone holder I have used
This phone holder is easy to install and remove due to its latch system. My last one was nearly impossible to remove; it took a lot of wiggling and jiggling to get out.I have an S22 Ultra and an Iphone 13 Pro Max and both phones fit into the holder fine. The phone is held steadily while driving. It is slightly awkward to release the phone due to the location of the release buttons but I figure I will get used to that.
