Excellent 'coffee table' type book with some superb photos.

Absolutely beautiful, a treasure to look at.

This has gorgeous photos of rare necessaires and gold compacts. It is a super addition to my reference book collection. The narrative is interesting, but the photos are the icing on top. Thank you.

I love this book with its series of photographs of precious metal and jeweled 'purses". These beauties often took master goldsmiths close to 700 hours of work and are works of art. This author has written a more recent book on another collection of these Minaudieres that I found at the library. I was lucky to find an old Sterling Silver and sapphire mesh link purse at a church sale in the 1970's that I still have. It was the item that started my collection as a teenager. HIGHLY recommend this book, my only wish is that there were MORE photographs of the inside's of these creations!
