The Citadel Oracle Deck: A Fantasy Oracle (60 Oracle Cards & Guidebook)

From the unique shape of the cards down to the sturdy and also unique packaging, this deck is absolutely stunning. I love the gold foil details too, it really adds some glitz and makes the card come to life. The entirety is just absolutely stellar and well done. Ive never seen anything like it. But more than its looks, it's actually one of the best oracles I've found. I have been disappointed with oracles in the past, coz they're spiritual floof that never apply or are hard to connect to. Or the deck is woefully small and lacking detail or balance between positive and negative energies. This is a 60 card deck!!!! Well balanced, very detailed. I just love it!!! I also love that upright and reversed are right on the cards for easy reference. Great add for any collection, and definitely gotta have if you're a reader like me. Complements tarot splendidly (or other oracles even, like lenormand)

I am impressed! I'll be honest I wasn't necessarily fully drawn to the look of the cards at first but the simplicity and detail yes but I love them much more then expected. You get a lot of knowledge in this deck and spot on accuracy. You also don't need the guidebook to utilize in readings. Again, the accuracy blows me away. In fact one of my friends is going to purchase the deck after trying a test run with him. The energy is great and they are more beautiful then expected. When the light hits them, the metallic shimmer lights the cards up like a lit candle and makes them even more magical. These will definitely enhance my client and personal readings. Many clients contact me for life transitions and or often a major crisis and these cards are very beneficial to add and utilize to my tarot readings to draw out more but they don't have to be used solely for life transitions. I also noticed that I was able to draw out more info with my husband utilizing this deck including thoughts and feelings surrounding his Dad who passed two years ago, something I wasn't expecting and had no clue about because I was doing a general reading as requested and he was too blown away. I got info I just wasn't expecting to get! The shape doesn't make these cards hard to shuffle but I did find the matte stock was ultra matte and cards like to stick sometimes. This means it can take a little longer to get what I need to come out. The shape doesn't effect the ability to shuffle so no worries there. I'm very happy with these cards. The case is a beautiful double layer with a magnetic closure and I find myself using them to help with most if not all of my readings since I received them. Give these a try, these have quickly become one of my favorite oracle decks. They can be used alone as a tarot deck even though this isn't a traditional tarot deck and they can be used in addition to tarot and other oracle readings including Lenormand style decks.

Product and review pictures don't even begin to do this deck justice. I am infatuated with this deck. It is absolutely gorgeous! Even the deck box is exceptional quality with great attention to detail. Both the inner and outer box is wrapped inside and out in artwork, leaving not a blank or bland spot to be found. The inner box slides so perfectly snug into the outer box (also just adding extra protection), and the bottom of the outer box closes magnetically which is very apeasing; both features holding everything so securely. Before ordering this deck I was a little unsure about the strange card shape but even that is perfect. Not only does that feature add character but they also sit so much better in your hands. The card stock is absolutely ideal. Excellent weight and texture that makes them shuffle and slide like butter. I'll make mention of it once more just because it's warranted; the beauty of this deck... from the art itself, to the white, black, red, and gold color scheme, to the gold foiling, which just breathes life into each card; I am just in awe. Overall I am simply elated with my purchase. I was absolutely buzzing when I first opened this deck and started looking through it. Way better than I could have ever expected or hoped for. No deck will ever compare to this for me. If you're hesitating for any reason, don't. Worth every penny.

Great quality. I love this deck and the storytelling aspect behind it, and the illustrations as well. It's a gorgeous oracle deck for sure. I have no complaints other than my cards came slightly bent, but not enough to be a real issue.

This deck is worth the cost! It's unique and one of the very best "stand alone" Tarot reading clarifiers that I have purchased throughout the years. With my very first use of it, as a Tarot reading clarifier, it was accurate, precise, with a WOW factor! It also has additional features & applications, and a nice, informative guide book (over 100 pages), and the illustrations are brilliant! My packaging was fine. And it comes in a very hard sturdy (wood like density) magnetic closure box. Only thing.... In the guide book, the index of the cards are listed by special assigned categories (in accord with the Citadel use as a game,) It would have been helpful to have a strictly alphabetical listing of each of the 60 cards at the back of the guidebook. Nontheless, my only real regret....... I wish this had been published years ago. It would have saved me a lot of money on other oracle card purchases! It renders the vast majority of my other oracle cards as useless. This is how you do a superb oracle card deck! LOVE IT! P.S. Forgot to mention...... Each card has beautiful inlaid foil on the images. I use them as a Tarot card reading clarifier & enhancer; much like a Lenormand & Kippler deck. Another bonus about this deck is the option of looking up the dictionary meaning for cards such as "THE HERALD" or "THE SENTINEL" for in-depth meanings ,& interpretations, providing you the added option of applying your own personal definition to each card.

I'm changing my review from 3star to a 5 star. So I said it was a cruddy vibe and had harsh descriptions. In reality I really needed to work with the deck and let go of the idea this is also a deck fo RPG like games. I didn't put in the full work to connect with it from the get go. I eventually threatened to sell it and tried working with it again (aka picked up the deck because I was bored and curious) Since then this deck is absolutely amazing. I'm going through a hard transition in life at the moment and tarot is just overwhelming and leaving me confused. Citadel Oracle is real with you for sure! But also brings logic and beauty to every spread. As a person that thinks and approaches things with such a emotional mindset, I often miss the mark of seeing the bigger picture with a rational thought process so usually my readings with tarot and other Oracle decks would leave me even more disappointed and discouraged. Citadel Oracle will best assist you with any self help and transitions in life. Use it as a journey deck. THIS IS NOT! the type of deck you would go to for fluffy feel good inspiration. Please keep that in mind despite the gorgeous gold gilded, black, red and white line style art. A couple design caveats to prepare for: the cards are quite stiff and because they aren't your typical rectangle shape, they can be a little tricky to shuffle because of the angled corners that tend to catch on eachother. I've learned that if you do a gental fall like riffle shuffle (I don't know the technical name for it) using the long side edge it works really really well! The booklet is very well written. The author created this deck with a ton of passion and didnt get lazy midway through like other Oracle decks out there. Within the card description the top paragraph is part of the game play meaning, second is the upright relatable to your reading type meaning and last which is labeled "Reversed" is obvious if you pulled the card and it is upside down. Do read the game play description anyways for your Oracle spreads because it can help set the tone for the meanings for a reading. Cardstock - 4/5⭐ Design - 5/5⭐ Unique card definitions - 5/5⭐ I can tell how much thought and love has gone into this deck immediately. Every last detail has been thoroughly thought out and thought out once more after that. So let's go through my ratings. Cardstock: Really decent. No bending so far for me but there is VERY slight fraying of the edges so that is why I took off a star. The overall cardstock of the deck is such good quality though that I don't predict this being detrimental any time soon. Design: when I tell you this deck is GORGEOUS. Each card has an absolutely effervescent design that really relates to what it is communicating. The shape of the cards themselves are incredibly unique but VERY easy to hold and shuffle which is hard to achieve compared to other uniquely shaped decks on the market. The back of the cards are beautiful as well. Even the box and book are gorgeous. Unique card definitions: I am an avid oracle and tarot collector and one of my biggest issue with oracle decks specifically is that there seems to be a TON of oracle decks churning out that have the same set of meanings or incredibly similar vibes. I feel like the market is flooded with basically the same deck over and over again. HOWEVER, I do NOT get that feeling with this deck. The card definitions are unique and feel like a breath of fresh air for the oracle deck market. When I pick this deck up I know I will get a different answer than the rest of my oracle decks and that is what we want right? Because why buy the same tool twice? Anyways I think this'll be my favorite for a VERY long time.

It was love at 1st sight when this deck showed up on my Amazon wall! Even better once it arrived! From the beautiful box, to the original shape of the cards, the gorgeous illustrations, or insightful texts, everything about this deck is on another level. The black and white illustrations with only pops of red or coppery foil are incredible. I have a collection of 60+ oracle decks, and this one is easily one of my favorites. Quite a magical experience! <3

This deck is gorgeous, and I'm so glad I bought them. They have a wonderful shape, and the artwork and foiling are absolutely stunning. The art style is wonderfully unique and engaging to look at. The cards are not traditional tarot or oracle cards - they are their own system, which can also be used for TTRPGs. The guidebook that comes with the box is very thick and of good quality and has thorough explanations for each card, as well as some TTRPG-related instructions, and some deck-specific spreads. The card box itself is very heavy cardboard and has a magnetic closure, which I deeply appreciate. The art on the box is also gorgeous, and the box has a silky matte finish like the cards. HOWEVER: - Amazon shipped them in a bubble envelope, and the box arrived damaged in one corner. I have no idea why they wouldn't ship it in the small boxes they have. - The cardstock used for these cards is a matte finish, and they really don't shuffle well because of it. The cards all want to stick together so a regular shuffle is difficult, and if you bridge shuffle them they fly all over the place. - The cardstock has very sharp edges, it cut my thumb while I was shuffling. - The cards are flimsy; just with regular shuffling, two or three of them already have bent corners and I've only done one reading so far. I'm not sure if it's because of the weak cardstock, or the shape of the cards. I'm not particularly rough on my cards, to give an idea I've had my Hermetic tarot deck for 3 years and they are my favorite and most used deck - they're well-loved, used at least once a week, and are still in perfect shape (although I can't say the same for the box LOL). Overall, they are a beautiful addition to my collection and worth the money but in the next edition, I hope the author considers a better cardstock to use, which would immensely improve the experience of using the deck.
