For the price this dress is excellent and far exceeded my expectations. For those wanting a bit of specific detail…Use: a Regency costume day/event in which I needed many Regency dresses in many sizes.Requirements: I am not looking to costume the cast of the next BBC historical production, so I didn’t need it to be historically accurate. I needed it to fit, look pretty, give a recognisable Regency silhouette, be long enough (5’6) , comfortable, and be easy on/off for quick-changes. I also needed it to arrive extremely quickly as I had to costume a few extra ladies than initially thought.Expectation: Doubtful, given my experience over the years of similar dresses from other online companies.Result: I apologise I shouldn’t have doubted! In fact I bought another one the same day in the larger size because I was so impressed for the price and quality. It ticked every box. Both dresses were stunning and fit very well. The cut of the dress was elegant and although perhaps an inch or two long for one lady she was able to gather the fabric as she walked- it actually appeared even more expensive and regal!The dress is very versatile given it’s pretty champagne/cream colour. I was able to dress up one of the outfits to be an “evening” full dress for a ball, with an over-gown, diadem, and long gloves (without the olive ribbon). For the other, I dressed it for a day look with a fichu, delicate lace cap and long shawl. The olive ribbon was an extremely pretty touch.Both ladies looked stunning and nobody realised they were the same dress, styled two different ways and on two completely different body types and heights!Especially for the money you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality. I have recently paid the same for a regency dress which is described as “floral” (from an Amazon vendor specialising in “cosplay”), which arrived with a broken zip, flimsy fabric, and *several* inches shorter than what could be forgiven as acceptable variation. Because of that I was worried that this one would also be a terrible mistake… I’m glad I was wrong!I wish I could provide photos but the nature of the event is private and I do not have permission to do so.
