This wood stove thermometer does an excellent job. I can't stand having creosote buildup on my stove glass door, or in my stove and chimney pipes for that matter. And of course, I want something to guide me as to whether I should increase or reduce the air intake into my wood stove. This little thermometer tells me everything I need to do and constantly serves as my guide as to how to adjust my stove. The price is very reasonable and I highly recommend it. Have used the JossaColar Wood Stove Thermometer for a few fires now and so far it is working great! Initially, I did not think I would need two, but now I'm glad to have both. Easy to tell at a glance if your fire needs to be hotter or if it is too hot. Takes the guesswork out of getting the most optimal fire. Works especially well for me since my stove does not have a glass door or viewing window so the only way I can tell if my fire is dying quickly is by using the thermometer. The magnet base makes it easy to stick it on the stove. The magnet is strong enough that the thermometer stays in place, but with the flip-up handle is easy to move around easily. The only complaint I would have is one of the thermometers in the 2 pack has faded in color after a few fires, but the functionality is not affected. Honestly would not even of noticed if I didn't have another one to compare to, does not bother me personally, but buyer beware that colors could fade. Would Highly recommend it to others, worthy of a 5-star review.

For the price this is acceptable. We use it with a very efficient wood stove outfitted with an insertable catalytic converter.

The Wood Stove Thermometer is a great tool for monitoring stove pipe temperatures. Its magnetic design makes it easy to attach, and it provides accurate readings to help prevent overheating and maximize efficiency.

I use this on the metal chimney right above my wood stove. The colors marking the medium and high temperatures are so similar you can't read it unless you're within a few feet. I have another that is white for the medium and red for hot. I can read it from anywhere in the kitchen or living room. While more expensive, "Inferno Stove Top Meter (3-30) thermometer" has maintained perfect calibration and is very accurate. After using it for a year, it also won't calibrate. Using a laser thermometer and comparing my two thermometers, this one can be adjusted but soon loses calibration again. Not worth buying.

I bought this thermometer so I could keep a better eye on the operating temperature of my wood heater rather than relying purely on how the fire looked. Installation couldn't really be easier. It's magnetic, so it simply attaches to the stove pipe and can easily be repositioned if needed. The magnet holds it securely in place and the dial is large and clear enough that I can check the temperature at a glance. The colour-coded temperature ranges are particularly useful. It's very easy to see whether the fire is running too cool, sitting in the best operating range, or getting too hot. I've found myself using it regularly when adjusting the airflow or deciding when to add more wood, and it takes a lot of the guesswork out of running the heater. I've included a photo showing the thermometer installed on my flue with the fire running nicely in the "BEST OPERATION" range. That's exactly what I wanted it for – a quick glance tells me the fire is sitting in the sweet spot without having to judge it purely by the flames. One thing to be aware of is that this type of magnetic thermometer is intended for a single-wall stove/flue pipe. If you have an insulated or double-wall flue, the outside surface temperature won't give you the same useful indication of what's happening inside the flue, so it's worth checking your setup before buying. It's a very simple product, but that's really all it needs to be. There's no battery, setup or electronics – attach it to the pipe and it starts giving you useful information. So far I'm very happy with it and consider it a worthwhile and inexpensive addition to my wood heater. 5 stars – simple, useful and does exactly what I bought it for.

I bought two of these thermometers for the wood burners in my house which I have attached to the flues, they are magnetic and just need placing in the desired place to install. The temperature gauge is easy to read and helps control the heat output from the wood burners. I am impressed with the quality of the product and would highly recommend it to a friend.

We were advised by our chimney sweep to get a thermometer to monitor our woodburner's temperature and this does the job perfectly. It sticks firmly onto the flue with its powerful magnet and the temperature is easily read from within the room because of the 3 coloured zones. Since using this we no longer have to clean the glass window of the woodburner every day because we can keep the temperature at an optimal level. Very pleased with this product which arrived quickly and works well.
