I have the Fuji XF16-50 and 70-300, and they’re both utter garbage compared to this lens. No vignette— How else will people know you didn’t just render it with AI? Variable focal lengths to minimize walking/swimming/flying — How are you supposed to get your daily steps in? Nope, nope, nope. This is the superior instrument. Joking aside, I just took it out for a first test and it adds yet more character and charm to what I capture with film recipes. There’s a lot of vignette depending on your orientation relative to the sun, especially if you’re shooting into it for a sunset. In the shade it’s still there, but far less pronounced. Doubt it'll be my go-to for street photography like a reviewer or two suggested and it looks kinda silly on my comparatively massive X-T5 (who cares?) but I love that I can slip it into my pocket now when I go out and get cool creative shots whenever I feel like it. Slightly reminiscent of the Fuji Instax Mini Evo I like to take to social stuff (because you can print photos and give ‘em to new or old friends), only with way better image quality. Using manual focus peaking shows me that most everything is in focus with it set on infinity and reviewing the shots on the computer confirms this. It’s also metal and glass as advertised and feels like quality. Focus ring moves smoothly. Great lens with lots of character.

This lens is good fun, but it's not a precision lens. It's a quality PoS, and I've found it to be charming. To be certain, this is a novelty purchase, and you should not purchase this lens for work unless you work in the arts. This lens is so fun that I've considered buying a second copy just to how different the optics are from lens to lens. I wouldn't be surprised if different copies of this lens can give pretty different renditions of the same scene.

Nailing the focus is a little fiddly, but I like the old-timey-box-camera-vacation-pic aesthetic it provides. And for the price I think it’s a great little addition.

This lens is being returned. I bought an earlier copy for a Sony A6400. Sharp and minimal distortion. Quite useable and compact. This copy was for a Fuji Xt5. Totally different. Sorta sharp in middle 1/3 of lens. Outside 2/3 distorted and fuzzy. Unusable. Returning asap.

I bought as a joke. It's a serious lens, Surprise!

It's not the sharpest or brightest, but it's small and fun. Turns your expensive camera into a point and shoot, and that's why i bought it!

An inexpensive, but fun lens. Vignettes very heavily. Great for quick snapshots, as it's pretty much always in focus. I like shooting in black and white (Acros on the Fuji X-T5) with it.

7artisans 18MM F6.3 Mark II UFO Lens for Fuji Mount, APS-C, Prime Lens, Ultra-Thin Compact Mirrorless Cameras for FUJIFILM XM-H/XP/XE/XA/XT/XS Series This is an ultra fun manual focus, fixed aperture pancake lens for Fuji mount APSC camera bodies. It has all-metal build, zero electronics thus you need to enable shoot function with no-lens. Also i recommend putting camera in manual focus mode so you can use in camera focus peaking. In my test i used an old Fuji X-A1 body because I think it makes the most sense with a tiny body. I tried to put this on my XT-20 but i just felt wrong putting on that body because I would never pocket that camera with this lens. X-A1 is where I'd use it more (for really candid street shooting). For the test i didnt take any human shots due to privacy concerns. All my shots were from manually focusing from 30cm to infinity. I used focus peaking on my camera. Shots are straight out of camera except i fixed WB due to totally bad WB on X-A1:). This lens is a fixed 6.3 aperture lens. What makes this different from "Mark I" version is the fact that there is a tiny focus ring from 30cm to infinity. To my experience with it so far, I recommend just using it in infinity mode. I found it very hard to nail focus at 30cm and nail it.... even with focus peaking enabled. My example shots i didnt nail focus when i was at 30cm lol. I also cant recommend this lens for indoor shooting because you'll always be at high iso due to f/6.3 -- unless of course you are using some strobes. There is some heavy vignetting with this lens when infinity. Oddly enough when i'm shooting at 30cm-ish i dont see crazy vignetting. When you nail focus -- basically infinity -- you can get reasonably OK sharpness in the center... Not great but OK given the fact that this is a 85$ pancake. Colors tend to be warm. I liken this lens to the "pocket dispo" lens but sharper. If you go p o c k e t d i s p o . c o m, you get what i mean. They took a lens from recycled disposable cameras back in the 80's... and mod it into a camera mount (like fuji or canon etc..) and shoots at F8 fixed. You can get really "film like" looks especially when you use this with some Fuji color recipes . I actually think this 7Artisans is MUCH MUCH better because it is sharper at the center, all-metal build that has a MUCH MORE robust mount as opposed to a plastic 3d-printed mount that doesnt "lock" onto camera, and it has f/6.3 vs f/8, and it can do some level of manual focusing. This costs LESS too (than the poc ke t di s po lens). So should you get one? yeah for sure. It's not a lot of money for a really really fun time. As i said before, i would just keep it at infinity, and shoot 1m and above , "shoot at the hip" and get some fun shots. way to go 7Artisan!

Body cap lenses, or nowadays called disposable camera lenses, had disappeared from popularity for a while but now has come back and are pretty popular nowadays. This lens is very similar to that in the sense that the image quality won't be the best; the resolution, sharpness and contrast aren't all that great, but they still produce a decent enough image especially when used for social media for instance. And although the optical element itself on this product will more or less be the same as those (though I am unsure if the lens itself is glass, or plastic like disposable cameras), this lens still retains the tiny profile while adding the ability to manual focus. So, for a tiny bit more bulk, you get a lens that is F6.3 instead of F8 or F11 like on a disposable camera, but you get manual focus. The focus throw isn't that large so it's pretty quick, and given the decently large depth of field it makes focusing "correct-ish" pretty easy. I do say "correct-ish" because the lens isn't super sharp and given the fixed aperture you also cannot get everything in frame in focus no matter what. This little focus throw extends the lens by about 1.37mm only, so there is never any time where this lens strays from it's super flat shape. In fact, it's so thin that you almost have no choice to use the focus helicoid locked on either end to mount/unmount your lens. As for the build quality, it's pretty good. There is a little bit of play on the lens mount but nothing to a significant or worrying degree. The focusing helicoid is super smooth and predictable too. Machining is good and in general there is nothing to complain about. The lens is enjoyable to use and can make the rangefinder-shaped models truly pocketable. As mentioned, not the greatest image quality so the effects out of it will look a lot more like old photos. They can still give really great overall rendering reminiscent of vintage lenses, but pixel peeping will always end up in disappointment. For resized photos these are great fun and still provide a great artistic result. Shooting against bright light the lens can easily lose a whole lot of contrast, so be sure to avoid overexposure in those circumstances. For the price compared to a "dispo-lens", it's kind of a no-brainer to get this instead, though not being able to get everything in focus does still greatly change the types of looks you get in your final pictures. The only disappointment I have with this product is actually just one: I wish it came with a lens cap. It may be a dispo-style lens but I would personally still like to keep my optics clean, especially when I am unsure if it is glass or plastic. There are no filter rings so there are no easy snap-on lens caps that can be easily bought to fit these. There is one silver lining to this situation, which was a bit of a pleasant surprise to find out, but it is that friction-fit lens caps for the Ricoh GR will fit snugly over this lens. This lens has an outer diameter of just shy of 56mm, and it so happens that the Ricoh GR does as well, so if like me you can a lens cap that will protect this lens (and in some cases even the helicoid of the lens!), a third party friction fit lens cap made for the Ricoh GR might just be your ticket. That said, I do still wish a lens cap was included.

This little 7ARTISANS branded lens for Fujifilm aps-c (crop sensor) cameras (although it is available for other brands of cameras also) was in no uncertain terms exactly what I was looking for and everything I had hoped for when it comes to both lens sharpness and also rendering quality. It is hilariously small, but is really no laughing matter; this tiny wafer-thin lens offers a seriously durable construction and high quality lens glass considering its small dimensions, and can handle an aperture of f/6.3 at 18mm, and is sharp across the entire aperture range. I mean, it really took me by surprise. Of course, it is a manual focus lens, but you barely even need to focus at the lowest aperture point of 6.3, and its just one of those kind of lenses that can completely replace your camera sensor cover entirely and minimize your entire camera rig to practically pocket size. I personally use this lens on my Fujifilm X-E4 and its dimensions are not much bigger than my iPhone which is a huge plus considering the power of that little camera. The lens resolution is fantastic, and it comes together to create what is for me, the perfect street photography tool. Really love it; 5 stars for what it is.

This is a really fun lens. The images are pretty sharp given the nature of the lens, but they do feel a bit soft around the edges and there is definitely some vignetting - but I don't mind as that feels part of the aesthetic of the kinds of shots I feel this lens would be best for. So if you're looking for something that feels more retro, then this is the perfect lens for that (assuming it hits your focal length needs) and I'm overall quite happy with it. It's a lot of fun!
