These are well sealed and fresh (for dried) and as easy to use as any dried mushroom.They have a pleasant, earthy aroma, and the rehydrated "mushroom dashi" is flavorful.This is a good sized bag, and is a much better value than buying several smaller bags.Very pleased with these, and will look at buying them again when I eventually run out.

I’ve soaked these for 30 minutes per instructions. 1 hour. 2 hours. 10 minutes. 45 minutes. All the variables. They are chewy as all get out. For what they are you can’t complain though. Thought they would be more tender after a soak, but they are not. It’s a dried mushroom…price is good. They taste like cardboard. But if the nutritional value is still there they are ok….

I was not expecting this big full bag, what a nice surprise! I am just not close enough to enough affordable mushrooms. I recently thought about growing my own mushrooms but already have so many different projects I couldn't add one more plus I failed at the mushroom bag growing kits. I will probably try again someday. I've moved on to this option for now. I just now started some lovely miso broth, scallions and a handful of these lovelies, large to small mushroom slices, scallions and some fresh ginger. This is a great daily habit that can make you happy and help you feel good too. I buy my tubs of miso right here on Amazon for many years now, awase miso or aka shiro is a great choice. I feel like a happy clam now that I have this big bag, the skies the limit! You can add these to your stir fries, over rice with some scallions & spicy chili sauce or any other way you use mushrooms. They hydrate in just a few minutes and have a normal mushroom texture and appearance.

I boiled them for 45 minutes. Way too chewy still.I don't see how I can prepare these. Slow cook them for 4 hours maybe? I'm not doing that.Tried multiple times. Will throw them out.
