Was skeptical, now a convert
There are a lot of reviews talking about this muffles the sound quality, but to me, the difference is so small, it's negligible. They make the Porta Pros so much easier to wear, and I can tell these will last a while. Are they pricey? I don't think so, for what they give you. Your ears will thank you, believe me.

These ear pads are worth the investment
I bought some lightweight headphones that are very good but the earpads were slight, so the cups start to irritate my ears after a few minutes. When I replaced those flimsy foam pads with these, the experience changed for the better. No more painful irritation, and the colors look great. Worth the investment.

Good replacement for stock pads
Very nice replacement ear pads for my Koss KSC75. Fits on with ease and are very comfortable. They do change the sound signature a bit, tweaking with an EQ preset is easy to do and makes them sound even better. Highly recommended!

The hype is exaggerated. Heres a detailed review.
I wouldnt call myself an audiophile, YET. The only thing holding me back from being one is being able to spend ungodly amounts of money on audio related stuff. But what I can tell you is I have very good ears and am also a music and audio enthusiast. My ears are very sensitive, I can pick up a lot of frequencies on the high end. I often tell my friends to lower their maxed out treble (they don’t know any better and think maxing out equalizers is a good idea) in their cars because its way too sharp on my ears. Now for these pads, I have used them on both the PortaPro drivers and KSC75 drivers. On the KSC75 drivers, they make the sound about 10-15% worse. They cause the upper-mids to sound disgusting, I can’t explain it well besides that. Its not a huge difference by any means, but it makes the sound muddy but a sharper muddy that drowns out the other sound. It removes A LOT of the soundstage, the KSC75s didn't really have too much in the first place. This makes it sound like all the sound is a jumbled muddy high piercing mess. Now for the PortaPro drivers, there is a much smaller difference than the KSC75s. The difference it causes is that with the Yaxi Pads it kills the volume of the high end frequencies, and also just lowers the volume overall. It also does make the soundstage worse. It sounds like some frequencies are just “missing.”In terms of comfort, Its about a 15% increase in comfort due to the surface area. The thickness of it compared to the normal pads are that the Yaxi’s are more thick. They are not more stiffer or squishier, it just SEEMS like its a bit stiffer that way because it has more thickness.Overall, the stuff of people saying it makes the quality of the sound that much better are just people who bought into the marketing and monopoly the Yaxi Pads have over the Koss’s. Its as simple as that. Its not a miracle product that enhances the sound quality. All pads can do is just block or allow some frequencies to pass through. If your ears hurt from the pads, go ahead and get them. If they dont, dont waste your money thinking these will make it sound better. Only a high quality equalizer (or better drivers) will do that for you.The way I tested the differences were setting my audio to mono and replacing the pads on one ear and keeping the old one on the other. And yes, I tested each side on both ears.

Provides more cusion, and at the same time make the sound appear fuller with more body
The problem with trying various ear pads is that they can alter the sound quite a bit. Sometimes a set of after-market ear pads can greatly improve the sound in a number of ways, while others may downgrade the sound qualities of that headphone unit.I'm delighted to report that these Yaxi ear pads are wonderful in so many ways. To begin with, I had purchased a pair of Koss KPH40i headphones and those chintzy little all black ear pads (if you even want to call them ear pads) resulted in a sound signature that was very thin, with little body. Sure, the music had a very open and airy sound, but with the stock ear pads, there was virtually no body or weight to the music. So I ordered this set of Yaxi ear pads and what a difference they made. They were a cinch to quickly install/apply - which was much easier than taking off the stock pads to begin with. What I immediately noticed was that the music was still quite open and airy, but now the body of the music had more weight - no longer thin! Bass was excellent and everything sounded quite smooth. In addition, because these are colored (red and gray), you can now tell which side is the right side (red color), so no more examining the headphones up close to see which side goes where. So I'm delighted with these and they rate 5 stars, especially at that low price for two pairs of ear pads.

stylish!
Comfortable and stylish. I'm a big fan of these pads. They make the porta pro more comfortable and they hold up to wear for a while. They're a bit pricey, but I think that they are worth it.

Perfect for when you lose one!
I’m always losing the pads on my porta pros. These are much thicker than the ones that come with the headphones. Consequently, the sound is better!

My go to currently.
Been buying these over and over. Wish they lasted longer but they are comfortable and sound seems good.
