This item broke after only 4 transfers. However, vendor refunded promptly. A similar purchase from another vendor also broke after 4 uses. These inexpensive motorized VHS adapters seem cheaply made. FYI, a used, non-motorized adapter was my solution!

Easily the worst purchase I’ve ever Made on Amazon. Feels solid and well made when you hold it but that’s were the positives about this end. For starters the pop up lid that allows you to load the tape in, was jammed so hard I’d need to break it to get it free. After I got it loose it WOULDNT EVEN TRY TO PLAY. JUST KEPT EJECTING ITSELF. Dont waste your money. Go buy a legit adapter from EBay and save yourself the disappointment. Absolute garbage right out the box.

This was exactly just what I needed. I apparently was too young to use these back in the day (1996) so I had to learn at 30 years old. I was super confused that it needed batteries to work. I feel like that should have been a sticker on this or an included pamphlet. It is noisy when you first insert a tape and take one out which scared me that my tapes were breaking. It is very easy to use (once you put the batteries in)

Works great. Love the battery operated close and open feature. Old one I had was manual open/close and would crinkle film constantly if you weren't careful or if the tape wasn't perfectly centered. These are getting harder to come by so I appreciate the quality and price. Would recommend.

Works very slowly, but it’s ok!

I received what appeared to be a new product. The first time I placed a tape in the adapter and closed the door grinding sounds came from the motor and gears. The tape spreader arms then grabbed the tape and damaged it. I put the same tape in my older converter and it played perfectly. I have used the old converter for years with zero problems. I bought this adapter to help expedite my tape dubbing. What a mistake. The item i received was defective. Do not buy this product.
