I thought the packaging looked a little shady, but it turns out that it worked perfectly for my DIY deodorant project and the packaging didn’t need to be anything special for my purposes.I’ve never seen shea butter before by itself so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But, I found it to be very creamy and hard, in a chunky crumbly rough cut brick. It melted nicely and the deodorant I created was smooth and satisfying on the skin. Have had no skin reactions whatsoever and that is rare for my husband! He says the deodorant seems effective and keeps him from smelling or sweating.I will make plenty more skincare products with this shea butter. It seems like a great value and should last quite a while for my purposes (I only used a few tablespoons worth, but I would buy it again if I need more in the future.

There's different options and I'm reviewing the, "Yellow Brick Road 100% Raw Unrefined Shea Butter-African Grade A Ivory" version with a photo.Large amount for the price. Came in a plastic bag inside a zip lock foil bag but I transferred it into a glass jar.Firm but as soon as you move your fingers along it melts like velvet lotion, so in my eyes it's the perfect consistency. Not filled with water or any fillers.It doesn't leave an oily residue at all, which most lotion and moisturizers do. It feels like your body naturally moisturized itself!I have dryness and cracks around my toes which is the main reason I got it and so far it is working great.EVERYTHING WE PUT ON OUR SKIN GOES INTO OUR SYSTEM, so don't buy anything you can put in your mouth. I won't eat this but knowing there's no chemicals, fragrance, or anything harmful is good to know.I suggest this version over the others offered and suggest this company over any other company.Some companies mail it to you in a plastic tub which people are getting cracked open, but this one comes in a bag so it won't crack open, and you can easily put it in a glass jar like I did.

It’s really smooth and smells alright but it’s worth the price, came bigger than expected

This is my second time buying this. Bought one in November 2024 that lasted me all the way until now, April 2025. A little goes a long ways. Definitely good quality raw shea butter. Moisturizing and my skin reacts well to it, signifying that there is no funny business going on. I love it and will buy again in a few months.

I’m unsure if this is the right smell or not but the bag has a slight smoke smell. I haven’t used it yet, unsure if it’s ok to use.Update- After some research, I learned this smell is normal for shea butter. I was nervous about using because of the way it came combined with the smell but gave it a go. I have made lotion bars and lip balms both scented and unscented and the smell doesn't stick around. This also feels so nice on the skin when added to the lotion bars. The smell of the beeswax overpowers the shea butter. I will probably buy again.

Very nice, creamy smooth, light nutty smell. I use this on my face and neck after shaving. I keep 1/2 by 1 inch chunks in the frig. (stays hard), and then rub on my skin, as it warms up I use my fingers to work it all over my face and neck. I store the one pound block in the freezer, and use a butter knife to chip off the chunks that are stored in the frig.. My last one pound block was maybe 5 years old, it lost a little of the nutty smell, but still smelled good. I have read it will have an off odor if it goes bad.I tried coconut oil and olive oil for the same purpose, but they irritated my skin sometimes, this shea butter has never irritated my skin, and my skin is fairly sensitive.

This shea butter is high-quality, pure, and deeply moisturizing. It has a rich, creamy texture and works wonders for dry skin, hair, and DIY skincare recipes. The natural scent is strong but fades quickly. I used it for handmade lotions and they were awesome for the season

I use this to make herbal salves and I’ve not had any issues with this product. Price is good, quality is good and no problem with the texture being grainy. I typically use olive oil and a little beeswax in my salves along with this shea butter.
