This is a strong and sturdy real leather strap. My Nashville Telecaster is about 8.5 lbs, so I thought I get something more substantial to hold my Fender Telecaster securely. The strap is wider than most standard electric guitar strap so the weight of the guitar is distributed over a wider area. The underlying side that makes contact with your shoulder has a soft, cushion. Again this help with comfort. The narrower section of the leather attaches to the wider section in an ambiguous manner. There are no instructions to help you with the best (most efficient) way to secure it to the wider section, so I just improvised. The strap is at least twice to three times price of other types of strap, but it is worth it.
