Gardman Mealworm 1.5Kg

When I opened the plastic hessian type woven sack instead of finding 1 bag marked 1.5 kg Gardman Mealworms 25% extra free, with a Best Before date etc. I found 2 white plastic woven hessian type bags without any markings. Not 1 resalable bag. This is not how I know Gardman pack their Mealworms. I should not be able to smell them before opening. I hate to think what is inside and very much doubt they were produced for Gardman unless they are rejects.Including the 2 bags the total weight was 1.847kg not 1.875kg without the bags. I have given this purchase a rating of 1 star only because I had to give them a rating

1.5 kg is more mealworms than you'd expect. I feed the birds with these each morning and evening and they're lasting very well. The only downside is that the Starlings don't get along with the Crows and the Magpies don't get along with any of the other birds, so there's always a lot of fighting. The poor little Robin waits patiently for something to scare the bigger birds away, then steps in and takes full advantage. The doves and wood pigeons don't even know what day of the week it is.

Some previous reviewers mention they don't believe they received genuine Gardman products, mine was as far as I could tell, Gardman branded and in a sealed, strong plastic bag as per the picture and bough directly from Amazon. Robins and Blackbirds love them, if they crows and magpies don't guzzle them all first.

These are good value, but I have no idea if they're actually Gardman Mealworms or not as they arrived in a white lightweight hessian-type sack, which allowed the smell of the mealworms (something I hate) to get out. Luckily I found a spare tub with a lid and have emptied them into that. I'm sure the birds won't mind but I do think the seller should say that you won't get the Gardman packing, which you can reseal. For that reason I've deducted one star and am not sure if I will buy from this seller again.

Regular customers of these mealworms and attracts many birds to our garden including robins, starlings and a black bird. The resealable packing is great for storing the product.

Good value, didn't know if it was Gardmans though as their name was not on the white bag they arrived in, not a problem thopugh - the birds love them.

Prompt delivery, excellent manageable packaging.
