Fits perfect, like it came from VW. Easy to install and the position is ideal. Right where you need it between the vents.

Right mount, wrong base.
The phone mount looks good but the base mount was not the correct one for my year of golf. I ensured I ordered the correct one but still received the wrong base.

Holds a little too hard.
I need a phone mount to monitor gauges after tuning my car to stage 2. This works great, and honestly can say the phone goes no where. HOWEVER. The way this clips in, if you pull to hard getting your phone out, you will pull the entire hazard light mechanism out of the dash. Itโs an easy fix because it just pops right back in, but still, beware. MK7.5 GTI

Optimal phone mount for VW Golf
Works perfectly for VW Golf 2016. I like that it is small and unobtrusive, unlike every other phone mount. It works best in portrait position, just place in the mount and you're done. For landscape, you need to spin it 180 degrees and then mount your phone. It works but you need to spend a little more time making sure it locks onto your phone otherwise it will slide out. Use everyday and love it.
