Sturdy Hammer and Great Price
Bought two of these for my husband and I to go rock hounding. These were a great weight - not to light as to be flimsy and not to heavy as to become tiring when using. We found them to be very sturdy. I was a bit concerned with some reviews stating that the hammer bent after use but we had no such problems. We used these all day everyday for 3 days digging into rock, breaking rock, etc. and never had an issue. We were very pleased with this hammer. Very Sturdy.

Rock solid hammer
I teach a summer program every year for 80 8th graders and we do a couple fossil digs. We have 3 of these hammers and they work just fine for the fissile shales that we break. When we get into limestone it takes a bit more work though and has a bit more vibration than some of the nicer ones that I personally own.

The family wanted to go fossil hunting and we needed hammers so I picked up two of these. They held up great against the rocks we were breaking with them. At one point the paleontologist on-site st the fossil park borrowed one of the hammers for a demonstration and they said they were impressed with its performance.If it’s good enough for the expert, it’ll be good enough for you.

Excellent hammer
The Bastex Rock Hamer Pick is perfect for my needs. I used the hammer on some rocks I collected from the Brooks Range in Alaska. I simply love it! Would definitely recommend the hammer to others.

Ruggedly built!
The rock hammer looks and feels like a quality product, but as of this date I have not had a chance to use it. Will try it out on an upcoming field trip.
