Bought this to chain up my lawn mower as something was stolen from my back yard. This is perfect! It is very heavy duty so no one is going to be able to cut through it. Has a rubber coating so it is weatherproof. Highly recommend.

This product is not water proof by any means. It rusts and will no longer open. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking to use outdoors.

I obtained this lock for my son to use as a bike lock. While it serves that purpose.Well the complaint is that it's actually too heavy as he carries it around town. I guess I can see that there is a awful lot of heft to this lock. It's thirty two inches long rubber coded and heavy. Overall , it's a formidable opponent that can certainly be beaten by a pair of master keys, but they certainly will beyond the scope of the average opportunist. This is a good value for the money, and I certainly would not hesitate to buy another one.

I ordered this lock and chain to protect a ladder at a job I'm doing. I was skeptical when I saw the size of the package; my thoughts were confirmed when I opened everything up.The lock seems to be heavy duty. It is rubber coated with a rubber cover for the keyhole. The shackle is also covered but the rubber does not seal where the shackle goes into the lock housing, so water will intrude in to the padlock likely resulting in corrosion.The chain is the real disappointment. It is coated which should protect it from the elements, but it is anything but heavy duty. I am positive this chain would be easily cut should anyone really want my ladder. It is also not very long; definitely will not work for locking down a bicycle.Bottom line: this is a nice medium duty solution to keep honest people honest, but it is not a heavy duty security solution.
