The replacements are better than the originals.
I had to replace the probes on my ET733 Temperature Transmitter (When they say "Don't submerge the probes", DON"T SUBMERGE THE PROBES!), and these are the ones I picked. The longer length on the cables is great. Now I can route them thru the rotisserie cut-out in the lid, instead of having to close the lid on them. I can also set the transmitter on a shelf behind the pit, out of harms way, rather than on the tray in front, where it's either in the way, or in danger of being splattered, or of getting knocked off onto the floor. The probe itself is actually shorter than came on the original unit. I actually like the shorter probes better, as I'm less likely to run them out the back or end of the meat. I had to be careful with chickens, so I didn't poke out the other side of the breast. Now I'm certain I'm in the thickest part of the meat.Be careful with the cables, they tend to want to kink if you don't have a care when unrolling them. Really, that's the only con I can think of with these.***As always, I have neither asked for, nor received, any compensation for my review. This is my own, un-biased opinion. (and lots of it)***

A great addition to the Maverick.
A great addition to the Maverick. While the stock probes that come with the unit will work as cook chamber probes, this unit is half the size. In the past I have had trouble positioning the stock probes so they are not in contact with the food when my smoker is full. This probe is small enough that it has completely eliminated that problem.

No fun. I was a little surprised that the probe ...
I really wish these were an option (or even standard) with the ET733, rather than a separate purchase - the 3-ft. cords that come with the ET733 are just too short - even when I kept the transmitter cradled in the Weber kettle's top handle, removing the lid was a production - unplug the probes, carefully lift the top while keeping the cords threaded through the top vent so I didn't have to re-thread them, do that all in reverse, repeat every time I had to add coals in a 12-hour cook. No fun.I was a little surprised that the probe isn't pointed - just a rounded end - but you don't need a sharp point to get through raw meat, so no big deal.

Best for high temps.
The original probe on our dual-temp Maverick 733 stopped working. I suspected it was because we were using it as a grate temperature probe. I decided to replace it with this high-temperature version and it's been working great. Definitely worth the extra money over the regular probe if you want to monitor your grill temperatures at the grate, rather than just meat temps.

Great Temp Probe for smoker
This probe was easy to place in the smoker for an accurate temperature measurement

Must have flexibility.
The added Flexibility that this adds to your thermometer makes it a must have when smoking. Allows you to reach anywhere inside your smoker you need to. I have the Weber Smokey Mountain Griller and can reach either cooking surface and anywhere within the smoker for accurate temp readings. The Maverick Thermo only comes with 3ft probes. You WILL need this.

Very good product. Same quality as the original only longer which is a great thing.
Used this product just yesterday and it worked great. I'd like to get the meat probe with the 6 foot length as well because it really helps to have that long chord instead of the small one that came with the unit. Same quality as the one that came with the thermometer.

... the "Maverick ET-733 Long Range Wireless Dual Probe" (as recommended by a reviewer-thanks
Bought 2 of these along with the "Maverick ET-733 Long Range Wireless Dual Probe" (as recommended by a reviewer-thanks!) because they have 6' long wires. Excellent recommendation! Very happy with them. The Maverick unit comes with 3' long wired probes: too short for some situations.

works on my 732
I have the ET 732 and this replacement sensor works good on it. I do like the new longer length as it allows for more flexible placement of device. I only gave it four stars because I think it was very very expensive. and I think it could have been much cheaper.
