You need a short Phillips and a side-swing ratchet
These are sturdy. They are small. They don't stay out unless loaded with weight, or, put on non slip surface. The metal frame us wide enough for non slip press on discs.Putting them together was easy. But, you DO need to open them up, lay them down in a row, and then take the metal frames (2 larger and 2 smaller) and make sure you don't just snatch and attach without spending a moment to line them up for the best fit. Take the two larger frames to the two larger boards and lay each frame, in turn, over the pre drilled holes . . . remembering to also rotate each frame head to toe, until you have them centered over the holes. They actually DO fit perfectly over the predrilled holes, but, you have to find the matching set of frame to drilled holes. You'd think it was not possible for pre punched holes and pre drilled holes to not be identicle in matching up the fit, but, I bought 3 sets of these and each fit had to be matched for centering the frame hole over the pre drilled holes.Once I had them lined up, I use my short Phillips to set the screws in the pre drilled holes, then, used my free hand to reach through the frame from the outer edge and press my fingers against the frame to push it evenly toward the edge of the board. Then, simply held it there while using my side-swing ratchet to tighten the screws down. By doing that, each of the frames were attached evenly and straight on each board, 1/4th inch from the edge.I was able to better organize my cabinet. The only issue I had, was that I had 5 dinner plates that would NOT, NOT, NOT, fit under these little shelves. They are on the left, 2nd shelf, with 1 dark blue plate under 4 white rimmed plates. I had to use an old style unit for those. All the plates that DO fit under the units are oval, or fancy old smaller dinner plates, or large bread and butter dark blue plates that I use as dinner plates. They are 10 inch plates. So, if you do not need to put these over large dinner plates, they should work fine for you.The only "problem" I had with them is that they ARE short. So, if you are a perdon with big hands, and, you want to grab and jerk a plare or bowl out, you can't. You actually have be be gentle and lift things out, if you stacked them high. See the 2nd shelf, right side, where I have flat bowls with lips on top of plates. To get a bowl off the stack, I do need to gently lift the 4 bowls off the plates and get my one bowl and put the other bowls back. There isn't enough clearance to just jerk one bowl off. Also, on the 2nd shelf at the right of the center cabinet wood, there are 5 small cereal bowls. I had to remove the top two bowls and take them away, because there was no room for my husband's larger hand to grab the top two bowls. Once those were removed and only the 3 ironwear bowls left, it was easy to grab one bowl and pull it out.

Perfect shelves!
I needed some shelves to put in my buffet for mugs. These were easy to put together with the included tool. The color matched the buffet perfectly and they are very sturdy. I would order again.

The pre-drilled holes are... NOT
Having gotten these fully assembled, I do like them (don't get me wrong). They're a good value for the money, and they arrived fast which was important to me. The biggest problem is that the pre-drilled holes so you can screw the legs on, just aren't usable. The little screwdriver that's included is an absolute joke. I had to get an electric screwdriver and, unfortunately, before I realized that I needed to RE-predrill my own holes, I split one of the shelves while trying to screw. The shelf is still usable but the wood has a split going down it now. After that, I went through the trouble of re-drilling the holes and then was able to use my electric screwdriver to get it assembled.Overall, NOT easy, and wouldn't have even been possible with only the included tools.

Sturdy Shelves for the Smaller Things in Life
I suppose one could use these shelves for a number of things in any room in the house. I needed them for a newly installed coffee bar in my kitchen. We used butcher block, but not the light colored wood--beautiful dark wood finish. These shelves are a perfect color for this area! I put "special" mugs on them and under them. Serves my purpose perfectly. Two sets were included for the price--which was not overly expensive. They were carefully shipped in a fairly short time and they were not difficult to put together. I am quite pleased with the shelves! and I love my new coffee bar area too!

Hoping will work for space intended for
Hopefully I can make use of these four shelves. I am somewhat disappointed in what I received.- It is next to impossible to get the screws flush to the metal- some of the metal legs' sides (rectangles) are NOT straight and therefore cannot become flush against the wood- An angled tool should have been included to aid in screwing in the screws. Even with a short/small screwdriver, it is difficult to maneuver- Rather than there being barely a nick in the wood to show where the screw should go, there should have been a little more of a hole drilled. Combined with the difficulty to maneuver a short screwdriver on either side of the rectangles, this was a difficult task.- two of the metal legs (rectangles) had sharp cuts in them- The stickers are seriously glued to the wood. Why??- two of the shelves are wobbly, even though the screws are screwed in as tightly as can be- one of the shelf tops has black scuff marksHopefully I can make these work in the spaces I purchased them for.EDIT: I added a star. I successfully made use of the shelves. Although all the above still applies, and one of the shelves is bowed, they do look nice on the counter and are functional. I did not put anything heavy on the shelves. I do not regret the purchase. Hopefully the shelves will hold up.

Exactly as described.
These shelves are perfect for my purposes. Make sure you have an electric drill to put together because the screws are tough to turn. Otherwise, no problems.

This is my second set
Okay, I have purchased this for a second time now! We have giant, tall, kitchen cabinets ... and stacking is a nightmare. No worries, these little doo dad organizer shelf thingy's to the rescue!! I'm no expert and even I could assemble these babies! It is a great buy. You get what you pay for. These are not high end. Lower your standards. Use common sense in your expectations and you'll love them. I genuinely love mine. Cupboards are organized, item was great value for what I'm using them for, sturdy, and it had color options. All the things you want in a good purchase with practicality that won't break the bank.

These are exactly what they look like - not cheap garbage
The screws dont really want to go in, and in some cases the guide holes are really off, but i was able to just use a screwdriver and a fair bit of force, and i managed. They actually look good on my kitchen counter -- the two pack ( four shelves in total ) was totally worth the money.

Need Drill Bit
The shelves were a bit of a pain to assemble by hand as the pilot holes were much smaller than the screws provided. I had to re-drill the holes (slightly wider and deeper) in order for the screws to be tightened smoothly. Aside from that minor flaw, these shelves are sturdy, good quality, and a great size for kitchen cupboard organization.
