HI There! If you don't have access to a heat lamp, a desk lamp should work as well - as long as it's a standard bulb and not LED Be sure to check the water temperature every few hours to make sure it stays around 72 degrees

Does anybody have a copy of the instructions?

easy, basically fill tank with 16 oz of distilled water, next add eggs, 2-3 days after they hatch give food, 3 weeks later add sand. should live for 1-4 months. For more details find instructions on google.

Which species of triops are in this kit?

It seems like years ago, they were triops when I bought the kit for my older child. Recently I purchased the same brand kit for my younger child and realized we hatched brine shrimp. The tank design also has changed.
