Modern religions in todayโs changing world Living Religions emphasizes the personal consciousness of believers and their own accounts of their religion and relevance in the present day. Surprisingly straightfoward text
Does not pander or suffer from any glaringly western biases. Pretty straightfoward, informative, and easy for students to read. Solid text.

Rental Option Not Recommend
I opted for the rental option then realized i no longer needed this book. Not sure if i prefer the rental option as the book seems somewhat dirty. Who knows whose hands have been on the book before you? At the same time i hate the price of buying text books in general. I would recommend an ebook option whenever possible. You can also ask your professor if having the text is 100% necessary bc most don't even use text books.

Good non-critical overview
This is a good, non-critical overview of current major world religions. If you are interested in the history and basic tenets, and major cultural influences of the world religions, this is a good start. If you are looking for a more critical evaluation of beliefs, look elsewhere.

Good Book
It was the correct book that we needed for class. I learned a lot about other religions but the viewpoint was from an outsider, not someone who practiced the religions. This doesn't allow you to learn the true feelings associated between a person and God.

Biased!!
Coming from a nation with multi ethnicity multi religiosity, I realize after reading this book for a world religions class that it has not been objective in the way it portrays each religion and there are parts that are misleading. Very disappointed especially when you are truly seeking to understand the different religions, both the good and the bad. The book also seems biased towards Islam as the entire read on the chapter on Islam seems to portray Christianity in a bad light and Islam as peaceful and we know enough of history to know that both religions have violent historical backgrounds.

Disappointed at Amazon
Needed this book for my religious class. The text book's back was so dirty and shows signs of scratches. If it wasn't the last copy and I needed this book urgently for my class I would definitely return it. Unacceptable.
