These aren't smart lights, but I was fed up with paying more for smart lights that inevitably failed (as LEDs do eventually) and having to pay big prices yet again. I opted for a smart plug and these lights instead, so I can turn them on/off via my smart apps. Changing the colour settings does require using the remote or the Bluetooth app, which works as expected.There are plenty of colour options/settings to choose from, making these an absolute bargain.

I bought these to fit around my bike, as they're waterproof and would give better visibility for drivers while I'm out riding in the dark. They have easily survived some pretty major downpours without problem. They are quite bright, but not blinding. They work best in the dark.As they work from a USB A plug, it's a cinch to power them from a USB power bank.I generally set them to an orange colour, but it can be fun on Halloween or Christmas to set them to funky colours or flashing. The app is easy to use and has a lot of features.The main issue I've had with them is that the cable around the USB plug seems to have weakened after only a few weeks. I plugged them in one day and they didn't come on. I thought they were broken, but later I tried them again and they worked, which confused me. Later I found that the lead around the cable is broken or dodgy, and it needs to be tweaked to get it to connect properly. This is a bit poor and a shame because the rest of the cable with LEDs in it seems to be holding up well.

In the phone app there are settings for RGB BGR ect. make sure you set the correct one and that the number of LEDs matches the string. i.e 50, 100, 200. you can set this manually but it should be set correct at the point of setup. Anyone can change these settings and it will make it look faulty, it is not, just change the settings to the correct number of LEDs and colour output. it is important to set it up on a phone which is really easy. in there are the options to alter the strings and more effects. Ithe USB plug is not waterproof and needs to be kept dry. Otherwise a good buy and you can adapt to use with Arduino.Works well for me.

These lights were great, the app works really well and all the different effects are great but unfortunately after a week half of the lights no longer come on - unsure what happened as once they were up they were never physically touched again, but I realised last night the last ten metres seem to have no power going to it. Will have to try again with a different brand unfortunately

Really nice lights and the app is brilliant for making them do lots of beautiful displays and patterns. Good price and really easy to put up and back down again. The remote is easy but the app is the best part.

I never write reviews but I’m disappointed with these. Within a few days of using them the lights at the end of the string just stopped working. They would turn on sometimes but didn’t respond to the app so I would have to turn them off completely at the switch. Eventually they just stopped turning on at all, so annoying!!

The media could not be loaded. These lights look fab in my daughter’s room. Great quality, Nice Brightness. The remote is really good and the timer feature is really helpful for the lights to go off after bedtime.

They work well and look nice, but it's a shame that something 3-2 meters doesn't work

Did not use the app or controller, just bought it to connect to a WeMos D1 mini with WLED.
