Great for the money. 2005 STi.
When you get the packaging and directions it says WRX only but fit perfect on my 2005 STi with out problems. This is a good intake with high quality clamps and fittings. Great intake sound and hearing the turbo spool is priceless. You do require a tune when doing any intake install with a WRX/STi as it will take in much more air than the computer thinks. Throws off the MAF sensor. I recommend using romraider and ecuflash if you know what your doing or simply buy a Cobb AP.

Best quality for price if you ask me.
I was looking for a intake for my 04 wrx( which is all stock), if you have a modified wrx you might need a tune in order for it to work. But if your car is all stock this intake will work without a tune. I did some research and theres only a few intakes that do not require a tune I was looking to get a k and n typhoon but it was about 250-300 bucks, some other ones were about 200 bucks, and I found this 1 for about 120 bucks I did some research before buying this but I couldnt find any info on this intake if it needed a tune or not. I checked a bunch of forums but nobody had any info and nobody had any reviews on here either. So I called Dc sports and talked with a couple of people and they stated that it would be fine without a tune aslong as it was the only engine mod. I believed them because the MAF sensor looks like it is in the same location as the factory one. So ive had it on for about a month and its running awesome, no problems. Throttle response is better, I love it! its kind of loud you can hear the turbo spooling up its nice-while i installed it I disconnected the battery and after I was done I ran the car for a few minutes to help the ecu adjust to the new air flow . Not sure if it made a difference or not but I think it helps.Overall I felt a difference in response in 1st-3rd gearsit is kind of loud has that nice intake soundbut for the price compared to other intakes this is a steal.and the box it came in was fancythe intake is top quality !save yourself at least $100

Easy gains for cheap
Very easy to install on my 2006 WRX. Took a minute for the ECU/Access Port to balance out the overboost from the increased air flow but really caused no severe issues. Definitely spools up and accelerates faster, not to mention sounds good :). The picture in Amazon is misleading though, it shows two couplers and the inventory list clearly states it comes with just 1.While it works, I'd prefer 2. I also notice the air intake temp gets a lot hotter since there is no heat shield and its drawing from the engine bay, so probably not the best investment if you live in Arizona, BUT great if you live in cooler/temperate climates and you keep on that accelerator to keep fresh air flowing. Enjoy!

This intake requires a tune.
I had this intake for about 5 months on my 2006 Subaru WRX and it was causing my car to sputter when accelerating, even if I was at 3500rpm the boost would cut in and out almost as if it was choking. Thought it was the fuel filter but turned out mine was perfectly clean. Eventually my check engine light turned on. I put the stock intake back on and the light never came back on. Regardless of what this manufacturer says, do NOT use this without a tune. Your engine can eventually blow because of it. Very misleading advertising and potentially damaging to the car. I even contacted DC Sports about this problem on their website to see if they had a solution and they just said 🤷♀️ Consult a mechanic. Thanks, lol.

Painted, not polished aluminum.
what really made me purchase this particular intake besides the awesome reviews I read about it in online forums was the really nice polished aluminum shown in the pictures and noted in the description. Upon receiving the intake I instantly relized what they had shipped me was not the same as the photo or description and is anodized(painted) aluminum and not actual polished aluminum. I really feel like they got me with the good ole bait and switch. I put it on my car anyways and it sounds great and runs just like the reviews said it would, but I really wish they shipped me what they lead me to believe I was getting. (Polished aluminum) not painted aluminum.

Pleased with product but Read entire review.
For the price, I was pleased with the results. Could be plasebo affect, but I feel like it added some power. The sound difference alone on my 2004 WRX was worth the money. Good quality product. My only complaint was there was some rough aluminum grit stuck to the inside of the intake tube. I hade to scrape it off befor installing. It came off easie but if I hadn't it could have caused engine damage.
