Essential Phone PH-1 Case, Slim Hybrid Cover [Scratch/Dust Proof] Defender Shockproof Case w. Screen Protector Film (Rose Gold, Case)

Great case. I got the gray color and it looks great, with an industrial vibe that pairs well with the Essential's design. Absolutely love the looks of it - stylish, slightly techie, and grown up. The case offers good grip all the way around and precise & properly aligned cut-outs for the speaker, camera, charging port, mic, etc. Fits like a glove and provides solid protection. The volume and power buttons on the right side are responsive. Curiously, the volume buttons are slightly more raised and textured than the power button, making them easier to find by feel. I'd be happy if the power button was the same, but perhaps it's slightly smoother and lower so one can tell it apart by touch. Anyway, I love the case all around: good looks, good protection, and good functionality.

I wanted to say that the case is awesome! It is a 2 part case with inner silicone liner and outer hard shell. Both materials are rugged, rigid, and firm. They seem like high quality materials and the hard shell does not bend like other cases sold on amazon around this price. My one complaint, and only reason it didn't get 5 stars, is that the screen protector that came with it is slightly larger than the screen, which leaves a border hanging over the beveled edge. This overhang is around the entire screen protector, so over time I know that dust, fibers, dirt will get crammed in there and ruin the appearance of a new protector. I would recommend just ordering the case, and order tempered glass screen protectors from a different seller like CE CENTAURUS ELECTRONICS. I ordered these and ripped off the screen protector that came with the case within 15 minutes of putting it on and changing it out for the tempered glass one.

When this case arrived I was shocked. The color is gorgeous and the back made it look like a quality case. However, I don't use it anymore. The purple part is plastic and it unfortunately snapped after I dropped it quite a few times. I also use my phone pretty religiously everyday and after about two months the sides of the case has rubbed off white making it look cheap. If you're looking for a case that will last this isn't it but for the price I'm not ashamed to buy another one after my other case fails especially because it looks so nice in good condition. This will work even better if you use your phone less frequently than I do !

With so few cases on the market for this phone I was hoping to find a winner. The original description of this item implied that the back might be clear. It is not. I am still waiting on my phone to arrive so I cannot comment on the fit or how the buttons feel yet, but I can say that the build quality is on par with the popular TUDIA case. The "soft" insert is a little harder than the TUDIA case, and the outside part is solid plastic. The case itself seems less slippery than the TUDIA case. It is a little larger than the TUDIA, but the difference is negligible. Once my phone arrives I will update my review with fit and button feel.UPDATE:Ive been using this case almost exclusively since getting the phone. The fit is better than the TUDIA and with the soft-er inside piece I feel like it has a little more protection. The trade off is that hte case is a little bulkier, but coming from a note 4 in a Ballistic tough armor case I don't notice it. I got the package that comes with a screen protector, and the pair work well together. I have read lots of reports of screen protectors not working well with cases, and this one seems to be fine. It is a little short on the edges and doesn't have a notch cut for the camera. I cant say how well it protects, but so far its been good.Until someone makes a legit good case for this phone this will be my go to case.UPDATE#2Almost 6 months in and the plastic on the bottom of the case has broken off. No big falls, but a few here and there from less than 3ft. the corners look like the black coloring on the plastic have warn away from going in and out of my pocket. It might be time to look for a new case. Hopefully their are more options out by now.

Easy to install, feels very solid and protective in the hand, doesn't make the phone uncomfortable to hold... The bottom is a little weaker (my case split a little right around the headphone jack), but it's a solid case with a classy look.

A really good, snug case that has already been proven with one drop/phone got knocked off of a 5 foot book case without any damage. All the cutouts fit great for plugging in outside cables. I don't have the 360 Camera, so I don't care about that, but THIS case would not allow that usage. Buy the one that does. This solves the major problem with this phone, which is it's slipperiness, that with any incline at all, it will slip off of almost any surface and crash to whatever is below it. Not TERRIBLY bulky compared to the phone by itself, but let's just say getting it out of your pocket is much harder than without it. For protection, that is what I wanted, so I'm happy.

Within two months of using this case, the hard outer shell has cracked clean through along the edge of the hole for the back camera. The damage has not caused any of the case to fall off. However, it's only a matter of time before it begins to do so. Besides this, the black paint has already begun to wear at the corners.For the cost, I'm not surprised at the state of the phone case. I was just hoping it would last at least a few months longer. And conveniently enough, my ability to return the case ended a month after it was shipped to me.

The case feels like it would offer decent protection to the phone, but quality isn't as good as I would prefer. The harder plastic feels cheap, especially with the ridge texture it has. TPU part is pretty good as expected. However at this price point, I can't complain too much. The screen protector fits the phone but I was disappointed to see that there isn't any cutout for the front camera.
