PROS: I just love my set of flowers and butterfly melamine dishes! The dinner plates are 10.75", bigger than my Corelle DP 10.50". I think I could even use them for a serving platter, should the occasion arise. The luncheon plates will probably get used the most. The bowls are even bigger than I envisioned. I'm a vegetarian, so these bowls are too small for my huge salads, but they would be suitable for small salads as well as dinner vegetables. The weight of the dishes seems middle-weight, which is sufficient since I'm the only one using them.CONS: I'm not taking away any stars because the online description "usage" alert is clearly included in the description section. It reads:"**But** microwave or traditional ovens are **not** recommended."This is also imprinted on the bottom of each dish, along with dishwasher and freezer safe.I remember reading several reviews where this information was brought to light, but as usual with pretty dishes and such, I ignored what I read and went ahead and ordered them anyway. For someone like me who microwaves everything, I am having to heat up food in one of my glass Pyrex bowls and then transferring it to my "pretty" plates or bowls. This just makes for more dishes to wash, but I'm enjoying the flowers and butterfly too much to care, for now. I do remember reading one review that said they use theirs in the microwave. I will not be putting my dishes in the microwave, however.SUMMARY: If you love pretty dishes and especially if you have a dishwasher, I would recommend these dishes. These dishes look like the real thing, but at probably less than half the price of stoneware or other regular dishes. These dishes would make a lovely gift. Just remember to let the gift recipient know about the no-microwave instruction.I am doing a separate review for a set of butter spreaders with a pattern almost identical to the dishes, i.e. flowers and butterfly. I love them, too! These would make a lovely gift as well.

I purchased these to stock a picnic basket with because I wanted pretty, full-sized, light weight dishes. I LOVE them! The pattern is perfect for picnicking, the size is just right for actually eating a meal (as opposed to a snack of bread and cheese or a few grapes) and they are lightweight and easily packed. As we don't use them that often, I do hand wash them and have not needed to microwave them so cannot speak to their sturdiness in either a dishwasher or microwave. I am very pleased that I chose these as they are just what I was looking for and they make excellent picnic dishes.

I love the feel and texture of these plates, the colors and images chosen are pleasing to the eye. The quality of these items rival dishes twice the price of these!

This is a beautiful set of dinner ware. It is perfect for using on our deck when the weather is nice. I love the butterflies and flowers on them.
