Brace On AFO S-Type Drop Foot Stabilizer Brace, Women's Right

I just received this brace and I can't believe how comfortable and well made it is compared to the other brace I've been using for years! It gives me so much more support and the ankle strap I believe makes a big difference. I have severe nerve damage that resulted in drop foot after a right hip replacement back in 2013. My other brace was okay but didn't give me even half as much support as this one does. I feel much more comfortable and confident with this brace. If you're considering purchasing it I encourage you to do so. You won't be sorry you did!

I keep hoping that I will find a light brace that will help with my drop foot and neuropathy. I only had to take one look and know that this brace was not going to help. Why? 1. The very, very narrow plate for the bottom of the foot will cut into the sides of wide and/or swollen feet. 2. The brace arrived with no instructions except for the lines on the bottom of the toe for cutting. 3. Cutting will not be easy without heavy scissors or clippers and, after cutting the edges will have to be sanded to avoid cuts when worn. 4. The bottom plate is smooth, hard plastic. It slides in socks, on carpet...it slides. 5. The bottom strap is a loose velcro strip with a small round velcro sticky glue tab for attaching to the brace. It really doesn't do much to brace the leg and foot. It is just kind of there. Oddly, the top part brace that fits the calf is well padded and comfortable. The velcro is extra-long and it is easy to attach. I have tried a lot of braces and wraps and I could immediately see that the foot plate would be the cause of multiple problems I didn't even attempt to cut or wear it. I didn't want to end up on the floor because of the slick plate going out from under me. If this brace works for you, great. But it is not for me. Returned. .

This seems to be working very well. I had a little trouble finding a shoe it would fit in but I found a couple pairs and it works well. It’s quite comfortable and fits well. My foot drop is mild and I’ve worn it all day for 2 days. No problems. Much better than waiting weeks for a custom made AFO.

Just a few minutes wearing this for my foot drop, they were rubbing terribly on my heel. Also, the top strap is way too bulky. Otherwise, they do lift the foot.

I’m not sure how this compares to similar braces like this but this one 100% changed my wife’s life today. She was in a car wreck a couple of months ago and had a broken and displaced hip with nerve damage. This helped her so much. She can actually stand up and walk a little without a walker now

For me, this was more brace than I needed. I liked the padding. I liked that the strap was adjustable. I have muscular calves. For another AFO that I tried, the strap would not fit around my calf. I didn't need to cut the insert. (I wear a size 9-10.) I tried with my tying running shoes, but then I couldn't put my foot in the shoe with the AFO in the shoe. I could only put my foot it in with the AFO, in my step in Sketchers. It also started to hurt the side of my foot after a couple of hours.

My 88 year old mother has neuropathy and also has some never damage from her back that is causing foot drop. She has fallen several times since she cannot feel her foot and has to pick her leg up higher than a normal gait to keep from tripping on the foot. This was referred by a physical therapist. It is amazing. It is comfortable and helps her move without fear of turning her foot backwards again. Priced it from an actual ortho doctor and it was $450 out of pocket unless you are diabetic. This was inexpensive and works wonderfully. No need to special shoes or even a bigger shoe size. I did take her insole out of her tennis shoe but that was it. Recommend for anyone with these issues!!!

Très déçue, le talon est BEAUCOUP trop serré, ca devient impossible pour la marche ou simplement juste de les porter. Je trouve que la fabrication est bonne avec de bons matériaux assez robuste. Mais pour le retour, pensez-y ce n'est pas gratuit comme la plupart des articles sur Amazon celui ci on doit payer le retour par la poste. $$ ca revient cher pour une atèle que je ne porterai pas.

I used this brace as I suffer from drop foot, nerve damage in my leg and compartment syndrome n my lower leg. It’s a good brace for now. It’ll help until the orthotics comes in. The ankle strap is pointless. If the strap moves at all then it becomes loose and with ankle movements being constant it’s always loose. I can’t tighten it enough to stay put. The foot bed only goes to the ball of my foot so I had to use an insole from another shoe to cover the bottom of my foot completely. Mobility was very limited before the brace, that has improved dramatically after using it. This brace has saved me from falling everywhere. I used to catch my toes and go flying but this eliminates that issue.
