The trilogy keeps delivering
I loved this book.I love BW sense of humour.I love the characters—I relate in many ways to Lark (not in the multiple deleter skills).I will read the third book in this trilogy as soon as it comes out. Whatever she writes I’ll buy because her storytelling and writing is excellent

Great read
Leather and lark was a great read. It had a different feel to it than B&B, I not only expected that but was all for it. I loved the banter and chemistry between Lachlan and Lark. This is definitely a slow burn but totally worth it.Lachlan is grumpy and broody with a soft spot for his wife. Loved his character and how he treated Lark once he realized his mistake from when they first met. Laughed every time her called her a feckin’ catastrophe. Swooned when he read Constantine to her.Lark is sparkly with her own darkness. Past trauma leads her to become a multiple deleter but has a huge heart for the ones she loves. Her calling Lachlan the budget Batman is the best.Aunt Ethel was a great and hilarious side character. Can’t wait to continue this series and read about the doily making doctor and the brash motorcycle circus performer.

Great Read
Unlike what many others have said, I enjoyed Leather & Lark much more than Butcher & Blackbird.Couldn't put it down and read it in a day.

Just as good as the first book, in a different way!
I CANNOT GET ENOUGH.I recently read (more like devoured), the first book in The Ruinous Love Trilogy, BUTCHER & BLACKBIRD. Before I was finished with it, I was online searching for the next book and was disappointed it was not yet published, but excited to see an expected publication date of June 4th.I promptly began stalking NetGalley to see if an ARC would be made available and was rewarded within a few days.If you saw or read my review about BUTCHER & BLACKBIRD, I said as soon as I got hold of LEATHER & LARK, I'd drop everything else to read it - and that is exactly what I did.I read this book over two days, in two sittings. I was consumed. I loved this story in a different way than that of Rowan and Sloane, even though there were some similarities. Perhaps it was the different trope elements of this little dark romance. Maybe it was the strength of Lark's character. Actually - it was probably my love for Great Aunt Ethel. Ethel is a gift that just kept on giving in this book!Brynne Weaver has a knack for taking common romance tropes, giving them a unique (and unforgettable) twist, with lots of hilarious banter, inside jokes and spice. I love the characters this author brings to life and in this installment, Weaver really shone with her character relationships. I don't mean the romantic kind - well, not just the romantic kind. Lark has such a wonderful, strong relationship with her stepfather, Damian. I love that Weaver didn't have Lark feeling guilty about loving this man and calling him "Dad" and Damian never felt jealous of Lark's biological father. It's so refreshing to see a healthy relationship between a step-parent and step-daughter.I had a great time reading LEATHER & LARK and now begins the interminable wait for the final book in the trilogy...Special thanks to my friend Sharon for gifting me a copy of BUTCHER & BLACKBIRD and introducing me to this series and author. Both books have brought me so much entertainment and laughter and I know I'll be rereading these books many, many times over the coming years.

“My word is worth my life. I made a vow to Lark. I will protect my wife”
I have been on pins and needles waiting for this book, so curious about why there was animosity between Lachlan and Lark - especially once we learned this was a marriage of convenience story. And y’all, it totally delivered as an unputdownable ride of banter and high stakes. The tension between them gave me so much dopamine, the slowburn was like being edged in the best way possible, and the spice was an intense payoff that was hot and wild. On top of all that the story and character development kept me completely invested. The reason for their animosity (and their first true meeting) surprised me but what surprised me more was how they got to be in a marriage of convenience. It makes sense for their characters and was admirable given their dislike of each other. They are both the type to put the people they love before themselves and seeing them start to focus that energy on each other was beautiful because they gave each other everything & the banter was flirty and fun!Lachlan being obsessed was everything and where he really shone was in making up their first meeting (even if he didn’t realize what he was causing at the time). He was steadfast in proving himself to her and that her forgiveness should only happen when she was ready to give it, not by him asking for it.I loved their relationship so much and how they supported each other was heartwarming. Craft glitter has never been so romantic. I also loved the cute moments we got of Rowan and Sloane living their best lives and the setup for Fionn and Rose - I’m dying for book 3 and can’t wait! In the meantime, I’m excited to get the audiobook so I can listen to Lachlan and Lark fall in love all over again!I received an early copy from the publisher and chose to review voluntarily
