Just ordered 3rd Set
We camp in the summer and have struggled with maintaining flower pots when we can't water every day. I ordered several types of self-watering systems, but these are my favorites and seem to work the best. We also have a small greenhouse and I am using these with my vegetables. You do have to be careful when you are putting together to make sure that you have completely filled the stake underwater or it will stop working.

Hit or miss, overall worth a try
I got 2 packs and they are hit or miss. They all worked but order them well in advance so you can test them. It took me 2 weeks of adjusting the heights to get the water flow the way I wanted it. Some need to be higher or lower to get the same flow rate. They kept my seedings alive for 2 weeks though and that's all i needed. I did notice when I got back, the flow on some some had slowed, and after 6 weeks a few stopped working.

Worked well
Worked super well in record breaking heat wave! I set these up while on vacation and my plants all survived 100 plus degree weather:)

There are precise & detailed instructions for affective watering process
I Followed instructions very carefully; plant survived but I’m not sure the watering system worked because the plant received rain.

Too much water
I used another brand of these and was in love with how easily they watered my houseplants. I tend to “forget” when I watered them either over watering or under watering. The self watering sticks were a god-send! I tried this brand and within a few hours my plants were water logged and the jars of water were empty. The plant trays I had them in were overflowing. I figured the plants were thirsty so I refilled the jars. A few hours later, same issue - jars were empty and the plants trays were overflowing. I know they work as a siphon so I adjusted the water level in the jar to below the spike’s level in the plant and even altered the height of the jar to below the top of the pot - still water logged and overflowing.I decided to reorder the previous brand I had such good luck with as this has not been an I’ve had with them.

Could Drain a Fish Tank
So, I haven't actually used these on a fish tank, but the first time I became aware of water suction through a hose, it was because I learned how to drain a fish tank. Anyway, these work like a charm, but just like when draining a fish tank, I have a difficult time getting it not to drain the entire bucket of water every day.Even when the water source is placed well below everything. I use coco noir as my soilless medium and I have air pruning pots so excess water can drain out and a plant is never overwatered. This is not ideal for this system because there is room to constantly fill the space with water. But if you have a solid pot and a single drain hole on the bottom, it might work better for you.

Self-watering stakes for plants
I've never used anything like this so I was a bit nervous. Thankfully the directions are clear and easy to follow. I used these with some plants on high floating shelves that are difficult to reach. One of my biggest concerns was that it would water too fast or too slow. The directions say it's easy to adjust the rate by where are you place the container of water. And I have to say so far so good. It's been 5 days and the flow appears to be perfect. I did have to make one adjustment but I think we have found the sweet spot for these particular plants. Overall, I think this is a great product and I'm going to continue to use, and would order again in the future.

Didn't Work
I set up every one in the pack and on the whole I'd say they failed. Some worked a little better than others but most didn't get a working siphon at all. I followed instructions exactly and will try again incase it was user error.
