Perfect for high winds
We had a fish shaped windsock that got totally thrashed in just a few months. The problem is, in high, erratic winds, the fish shape is to restrictive - wide opening at the top, very narrow at the tail end. This new windsock has much more area for flow through, so there's less tangle & stands up better.2 things to note - it makes quite a lot of 'noise', the tails rubbing together. Not a bad thing, but quite noticeable when it's near an open window. The other thing is a bit of advice. First thing you should do when you get this is to glue all the seams. Just like the fish one we had, the seams are not finalized - that is, the sewer just runs the seam off & cuts the threads, without tying or securing the ends. On the fish one, I sewed all the seam ends. But my husband had a better idea - to glue the seam ends, so they won't unravel. He used super glue, I believe, but I suppose any glue would work. If you don't do something to secure the seam ends, all the seams will unravel (unless you have very light winds). We live on the Oregon coast, which is quite windy, so some extra precaution is necessary.Love the colors!

LOVE THESE WINDSOCKS !
We had three very large, and beloved Birch Trees in our front yard; until the huge and unexpected FREEZE that hit Central Texas in December. The Birch Trees didn't make it through the freeze, and rather than cut them all the way down and / or remove them, we decided to transform them into Living "Works of Art" ! We removed all the dead branches, literally "topped" off the trees to about 12 feet tall, then drilled a hole in the top of each Birch "Stump" in order to set a large "Screw Eye" [screw] into the top of each "stump." Now we're able to display the Windsocks whenever we want - one at a time, or two, or sometimes, all three of them ! They liven up our yard, give some light-hearted character to the Birch Tree (stumps), provide some artistic joy, AND.... at a glance, we can tell what direction the wind is coming from :-D

Good alternative to a balloon spinner
We've had a few balloon spinners, but they always get wrecked after a while and don't spin right. The balls on their tails also whack a window they are nearby. I did rectify that by getting a foam clown nose, cutting a slit in it and sewing it over the hard ball. When I saw this Rainbow windsock, I thought it was worth trying. It's very colorful and blows nicely in the wind. I DOES whack our window with its flowing tails, but it's not going to hurt anything. It CAN be a little noisy when it hits the window, but we're getting used to it. I hope it keeps its vibrant color for a few years, at least.

Lasted one year in reoccurring violent winds
The media could not be loaded. Did well for one year here in the high desert of California. Winds come often and are pretty violent. It wasn’t able to stay on the plastic ring and many of the seams have come loose. Honestly, I’m surprised it lasted this long. It had a good life and I plan to order another one for our next home where there will be a normal amount of wind.

Does the job and looks good doing it
I needed a way to judge the direction of the wind and intensity when at home, but didn't want anything complicated. I thought of all the things I could use to do this with, and settled on this cute wind sock. It's simple, inexpensive, and works as intended, quite well. I would have made my own, as I've a lot of old clothes I cut up to make other things out of, but COVID-19 has kept me at home (I'm over 60 and immunocompromised), and one of my daughters has the family sewing machine at her place (2 hours away), to make cloth face masks; so I just bought this one, and am pleased with it. Gives my front porch a bit of color too.

One of the Best
We've purchased many windsocks over the years, but this is one of two that get top ratings. It flies perfectly, and is durable as heck. We have constant wind in our area, and many windsocks just don't have the durability to last more than a season. We've had this one for 3 years now, and ordered another one (of course...when you find a winner, get another for backup!).Highly recommend!
