Fascinating
A good introduction to mitochondria.I hope there will be an updated book in the near future, as the discoveries in mitochondrial influence on human health are evolving fast and the link between gut microbiota and mitochondria is fascinating.

Good clear read
This is clearly written and a reader can understand this without any medical knowledge; worth reading to gain a greater understanding into mitochondria.

Fascinating!
An excellent, informative, fascinating and captivating explanation of mitochondria and the complexity of the body. At times it was very technical for a lay perseon, but it is well worth persevering with it to the end. Excellent!

Enlightening
Very interesting and thought provoking. I did not study biology at school and have no science background so I have to keep going backwards and forwards, but a great read. Well written, well explained and enjoyable enough that I am rereading again for third time, just to take it all in.

Excellent
This is one of those books you can't stop reading (at least for me anyway, as I'm interested in the topic). Finished it in three days and still excited by the information I read and wanting to read more. Will probably need to re-read part 1, as it's a very technical section and went full throttle on you, but after finishing parts 2 and 3 I'm a little more prepped. I've now purchased a few supplements that were recommended by the book. Looking forward to testing them out and seeing if they optimise my energy levels :-)

May the Force be with you
I have me/cfs and am aware of the importance of mitochondria as the energy for cells and life so was interested in this book to help me gain a better understanding of the workings of the mitochondria as a main component of my illness is fatigue or lack of energy on this basis I purchased the book. As an avid fan of Starwars I found midi chlorians being equated to mitochondria and was immediately a fan of the book. So onto the content, I agree with other reviewers that you would benefit from prior knowledge of biology as it is quite heavy going but I would say persevere and finish the book. Towards the end there are useful points as to possible supplements to help your mitochondria perform better. I am glad I purchased this book and will reading it again and have no hesitation recommending it if you want to know a bit more than the basics.

Informative and well presented
Fantastic information about the role of mitochondria and where future studies are likely to lead us. As an older person I shall certainly be giving the suggestions a try and noting any differences in energy and wellbeing.

Great book on the latest on mitochondria, what they do, why they matter, and how to help them
Very important overview of latest insights in what mitochondria do, how they work, and how with supplements we might help them function better. None of this was taught when I was in medical school.

For the Health Care Provider
Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine is a fairly complex read. It's not for a complete beginner, though the author simplifies the over-all concepts in the beginning as much as he can. I would recommend this book to health care professionals to further their already solid base of knowledge in nutrition, the Krebs Cycle and metabolic disorders such as Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, Obesity, etc. Lee Know knows his material and presents it as clearly and concisely as he can, which is quite good, all the while reminding the reader that discoveries are continuously being made, causing our understanding to change. But the foundational information and its current ramifications Know puts forward, is exciting, fascinating and hopeful. I give it 5 stars. It's a solid piece of excellent work.
