Repeat Customer
3 years ago I bought 4 of these for my cottage on Cape Cod.My brother just bought a house with a cute front porch and I bought these for him. They are very sturdy and last through all kinds of weather (I never bring mine in during the winter). Not all porch railings are exactly the measurements that they describe, so on a couple of mine I had to slide a small block of wood between the railing and the box. The planter will not balance correctly until you fill it with potting soil

Excellent product and seller! Highly recommend both!
This product worked perfectly on my apartment balcony. I ordered 3 of teh 2x4 Terracotta railing planters. They arrived super fast via FedEx (who I'm not impressed with as a shipping company... they just threw the box on my front stoop, rang the doorbell once, and walked off). When I opened the box, two of the three planters were perfect. One of the three, however, did have a sizable crack in it with a chunk missing out. I contacted the seller who didn't even have me trouble with shipping the broken one back and immediately shipped me out a replacement. Thier customer service was extremely nice and very quick. The product itself works perfectly, held to the balcony rail by weight, I have 9 flower plants each in two of them and 9 pepper plants in the third so they are good size. This is the first season I've used them but so far they are holding up to sun and storms quite well. Mine only had a small, easily removed label on them so I didn't have any issues removing it. Many of my neighbors have asked me about the planters. They look very nice, they're good sturdy planters, and the seller has amazing customer service. I could not be happier! Definitely recommend the product and seller!

Deck Rail Planter
Sturdy deck rail planter. The first one worked out very well, so we ordered two more. Herbs right on the deck outside the kitchen! Ideal. Note that not all colors are priced the same, so shop carefully. You can experiment until you determine the right amount of water. Equipped with drain holes. Adds a dimension to our cooking, and a green touch to the rail. Have endured wind storms. Could not be more pleased. Brought them in before first frost, and the herbs are trying to over-winter inside.

These are great!
I was a bit nervous when I ordered these as my railing is not a true 2 x4 and is a bit smaller then 4 inches across - it's like 3 5/8. The top is flat but the edges are curved so it was hard to tell from the pictures how this would work. But it works fine! They would probably sell more if they showed more pics of different railings. I had bought some putty to put between just in case but it's not needed. I put some small stones in the wells on each and then added dirt. I've already received quite a few compliments and everyone is asking where I found them. Lovely - highly recommend.

BRILLIANT--color, design, function!
For 20 years, five planters were hung on the outside of our second-story wooden deck railing, adding considerable weight and stress which was poorly supported. Now we have six of the larger, well-supported Apollo planters resting directly above the deck rail. The saddle-bag design virtually eliminates stress to the deck rail; they're more visible and attractive from inside the house and outside; the clean white color is compatible with our brilliant white deck railing paint; in our case, the saddle-bag form on the bottom holds the rail more securely than I expected, but it also provides a small gap above the rail which permits air to circulate between the planter and the rail, adding life to our deck paint; and finally, we no longer have to fight the rusty metal hangers that we used to have. There are no metal parts to rust on this planter. TIP: Three small drain holes are provided on each "side" of the planter for a total of six. We squeezed a small amount of hot-glue into the three inside holes; now the planter drains to the outside of the deck only--cleaner, no deck staining, and more than adequate drainage.

Great for herbs right outside the kitchen door!
Bought these so I could stop sharing the herbs with the woodland creatures (garden beds are all fair game!) Only comment is to put landscape fabric in the bottom before the potting soil to prevent little piles of soil under the drainage holes on the deck. They have needed a lot of water daily in recent weeks, and I do add plant food, but they are convenient and look great on my white deck rails. Even loaded with soil and plants, I am able to lift and move them around, or turn them around to get the best sun. I would buy them again.

Happy, Happy, Happy describes my review!
I am very pleased with the railing planters. They fit nicely over my porch railings and I do not need to worry about them getting knocked off by either humans or their counterparts. Squirrels and cats have been known to knock pots off railings in the past. I like the durability and color and the drainage works fine. I can grow a lot of veggies (lettuce, radishes, squash-I support the fruit w/pantyhose) in the planters that I cannot grow in the ground because of the black walnut trees that border my yard.

Measure your railings carefully first
I really like these planters, they are of good quality and large enough to provide for a large and healthy root system. I do, however, have one complaint and that these boxes are 'stiff' and with no 'give' in them when you are trying to fit them onto a railing. My railings have a thin piece of lattice attached to them and just that teeny tiny lil bit of added thickness to the railing will not allow me to even force these pots onto the railing. except for that I do love these.

Well made and sturdy but pricey
Handy for what it is but I feel it is overpriced. Well made and sturdy but pricey.
