Briggs & Stratton Briggs & Stratton 394970 Ignition Kit Used to Retrofit Most 2-Legged Ignition Armatures with Breaker Points

This item should be advertised more. It works perfectly and saves a lot of money. I was originally looking at upgrading my old points system to an electronic but didn't like the expense of buying a new electronic Magnetron. This is less than half the price of a new electronic magnetron and upgrades the old coil and allows you to eliminate the use of the points. The only improvement I would suggest would be the instructions. I would also like to see Briggs make a video on You Tube that a person could reference to see just how to install this unit. A video along with the instructions included would make this installation a snap for just about anyone.

my Hayterret mower which I couldn't start stood outside waiting for the scrap man for six months. I came across this little beauty while looking for a diaphragm for my 3.5 Classic. It took me half an hour to fit, I didn't even have to remove the flywheel and Hey Presto! started first pull and runs like new.

Couldn't exactly get to work, I'll try it later on a smaller engine

Had an edger with no spark, narrowed it down to the old point & condenser parts, swapped this in and it fired right up!

Great replacement for the old points ignition on my old snowblower. No more wet ignition or hard starting.
