Q: item installed easy but now my 2015 Subaru Outback hatch door can't close what am I doing wrong? Is there a way to adjust or is it just too long?

You got the wrong pair -- these are sized for the front hood. These types of gas struts are not adjustable, but they do come in different strengths. If your rear hatch almost closes all the way, within a couple of inches, then the struts are too long in their compressed position. If the hatch only goes part way, then the struts are too strong. We use these on our 2016 Outback front hood and they work great.
