Definitely not in "New" condition, as stated in the Ad. At best NOS(New Old Stock), might be a better description with clarification of the items condition. The filters look aged, with wear marks on the outside of the items, but appear unused. The factory boxes were in poor condition, and were ripped open and re-taped shut. This was not stated anywhere in the Ad, only the description from the manufacturer was used. I would have to give further consideration and require additional clarification of the condition of the items before a re-purchase.

Say what you want about these cheap fram filters, but ive used them on and off on my 26 year old escort and it still runs nice.I now keep them in at least a year as the car doesnt get all that much use, and hasnt failed me or many others yet.

I've bought this filter as recommended by the Fram replacement for part number 06A115561B.The problem with this Fram is that it has non-standard number of flutes, so when I removed my old filter, i could not fit this one. I just don't have a proper wrench for this one.My car is not new, and I used a lot of different filters on it, like Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Purolator, Bosch, you name it. They all had absolutely standard cap, suitable for my 14-flutes oil filter wrench. The design of the engine does not allow using of universal belt filter wrenches, there is no space for that. So I could not fit this filter.Luckily, I have other filters, and used one of them.So if you are a DIYer, check your tools before you remove your old filter to fit this one.

Die Qualität eines Ölfilters objektiv zu bewerten ist nahezu unmöglich, in Mexiko im Land des Volkswagen findet der Filter für den VW 1600i eine breite Anwendung, dort werden noch überwiegend in diversen Hinterhöfen die Servicearbeiten in Eigenregie erledigt und man kann sich getrost auf den großen Erfahrungsschatz der Anwender anlehnen. Dieser Fram-Filter wird beim nächsten Ölwechselservice meines VW 1600i angeschraubt.Äußerlich betrachtet ist der Filter gut verarbeitet, die schwarze Gummierung ist sicher hilfreich um den handfesten Anzug zu gewährleisten.
