M5 FOR QUALITY, POWER & SPEED...
I had previously bought a Huawei flagship phone and was very impressed with the build quality and spec level. So when my Samsung Galaxy Note finally got so slow I wanted to break it I went straight for Huawei. The M5 8 is an excellent tablet and so fast. When powered off, the time from pressing the power button to using it is 18 seconds. That is quick.SCREEN Good bright screen Very clear and sharp.SOUND Very good sound for a tablet Very good volume!STORAGE Very good 32gb and micro SD slot too!STREAMING Fast and stable.DESIGN / BUILD Way beyond anything I've seen from samsung.. Solid machined metal and glass. Premium feel.CONNECTIVITY USB C is great. No headphone socket but USB C adapter works fine or Bluetooth headphones.I have had mine over a month and I am a heavy user, as I work on it. It is a great companion. The 10 inch would be too heavy for my usage hence the 8. I previously had a 10 but it kills your hands. In my opinion, it is a great powerful tablet.PS get a genuine Huawei case they are the best if hard to get...

Great value tablet, watch out for sale offers
The MediaPad M5 8.4 inch is still a very powerful tool offering lots of speed and stamina for the overall media consumer and digital nomad. Truly, this pad can take on the iPads and Samsungs out there any day of the week. The display is brilliant and the sound with its quad stereo speakers left and right of the tablet when holding it in landscape mode is just something not easily to be found on other Android or iOS devices. Its limited capacity of 32 GB is not really a problem as one can expand it by using a normal microSD card. My 128 GB sandisk Ultra works just finde. Note, once you have enabled the SD card as your default storage device, you cannot add new users to the Android system. However, this is due to Android's limitations, not Huawei's. So be careful to check whether you need multiple users or not before you insert your SD card and switch it to default. Are there any negative points? Not much, as the many raving reviews on youtube will confirm. Perhaps one should notice that Android 9 Pie will be the last big update. However, as there are only a handful Android 9 and 10 pads out there, I guess this is still fine. One can expect security updates throughout 2020...more than a lot of competitors have to offer. Especially below the 200 Euro/Pounds barrier.

A few days into ownership - All Good So Far
I ordered this because I wanted a smaller android tablet to take around with me. This fits the bill perfectly. I got a £40 discount on Prime day and so far am very happy with my purchase. The screen is the sharpest of any of the tablets I have owned. It is very light and the battery life is very good. The sound is good for a tablet and works well with a Bluetooth speaker. For anyone else who needs to know I had a problem loading the Amazon Music App. It kept saying that the App was not compatible with this device. This seemed very counter intuitive and after searching the net it seems some other people have had the same problem. Well I discovered this is the answer, if you need to know, set up a Huawei ID and Account and it downloads no problem. Yes it is as simple as that. I already had an account from my phone so even easier.Other than the above it is all good news. The memory card I have loaded works fine, the updates all downloaded, I have copied the Apps and data from my phone so all up and running singing and dancing.More features to explore including the uses for the nano Sim slots. I will update as and when I have time to investigate all the potential of this tablet. For me well worth the premium. but as they say many other tablets are available. Nice choice to have.

Exceptional tablet for value and quality - would recommend
I have listed some Pros, cons and bits in between on what you get and how it performs below. if you have any unanswered questions about the tablet, post them in the comments of my review. After using the tablet since July, 2018 fairly actively for every day browsing, videos, and recently some gaming, I can say 4 months later, I have got my moneys worth out of the tablet. I was sceptical on buying the tablet for such a price, but I can say it was worth it. The value of this tablet is superb for what you get. I searched long and hard for a competing brand to offer me the same package for a similar price. Finding a tablet that has at least 32Gb of storage, at such a size, for such a weight, with the same amount of RAM with expandable storage - for Android - can be asking a lot, but it seems this tablet does it all.PROS:-Price - I bought the tablet for £215, and for what it offers - the amount of memory, RAM, screen size, battery, and processing power, it is a strong contender vs Apple and Samsung counterparts. You will struggle to find a tablet for £215 with similar capacities of memory, features and build quality.-Finger print sensor - I did not expect for such a price that it would offer one, but it does, and it works really well.-Expandable storage via microSD card - good for more apps, movies and games.-Long battery life - I actively use the tablet average 5-6 hours a day, and on 4-5 hour train journeys, and I charge it 1-2 times in the week. It holds its charge REALLY well, and it can hold it even more with keeping apps closed, unused settings off, brightness at lower levels-Bright screen - Nice viewing angles, and easy to see in various lights. Though still shines in direct sunlight, expected.-Little/No bloatware - that 32Gb of storage, minus the OS, as said above, it was hard to find a tablet that offered such amount for such a price for Android. With expandable storage, you shouldn't run out of memory.-Speakers - the two speakers does make it more clearer and a better listening experience.BIT OF BOTH:-Screen bezels - or lack there of. This tablet is THIN, and the lack of bezels, there sometimes isn't a place to put your fingers without triggering the screen. I would recommend buying a case.-Fairly light - Similar with the bezels, light is good. It doesn't tire the hand, nor does it drag you down vs a 15.6 2.3kg laptop, but without a case, you will sometimes be afraid of breaking the screen, or dropping it - due to the bezels.- The screen resolution - the screen is good, but as you may see with other reviews, apps do not seem to fully utilise its 1440p+ resolution, the max apps such as Youtube will send video to the tablet is at resolutions of 1080p. I do not know how other tablets compare, but my phone has a similar resolution and can retrieve 1440p video.CONS:-No headphone jack - does come with adaptor. With the tablet holding its charge, the times where you want to plug a headphone jack in and a charger will be rare, but I have had this instance after prolonged and active use, which can be frustrating for media consumption.Should I think of anything else, I will update the review.
